Exotics XCG V Driver
Just added this driver to my bag today along with Exotics XCG3 hybrids 16 & 21 and EX-3 irons. All arrived today before lunch so I took them to the course for my normal Thursday game. Literally never hit a shot with these clubs and started stone cold. After making bogey on two of the first three holes by missing two short puts, I shot one under 71 ( 34 putts - not a great putting day). My handicap index is 11.1 currently. About 6 years ago I had very serious knee surgery and my handicap soared from 6 to he current level. This is the first time since the surgery that I have had a round where I hit more than 12 greens in regulation. Maybe it was just an exceptional day, but I can say I only missed one fairway and my average drive was 20+ yards farther that my Bobby Jones Workshop - both the Exotics XCG V and the Workshop are 10.5 degrees loft and both are stiff shaft. I will not give all the credit to the driver as the irons and Hybrids were both better than I had hoped for. Hybrids were low and long and irons hit the ball high with superior check even on the longer irons. Since this Driver is not the most current model, my cost was reasonable. Customer Service Very helpful in coordinating shipping. Tour Edge Exotics XCG-V 10.5 driver
I have played a couple of times with this driver. Got it after test running the 3 wood. I used to play a titleist 905 R. I can't say the exotics is longer than my longest drives with the 905 R. It kills me when people consistently rave about the extra 15 yards they are getting from their new club. I will say that the exotics is more consistently long and definitely straighter. It looks mostly the same at address. Deeper bigger face. Very easy to swing and put in fairway. Of course you get less workability, but who needs that anymore. Itreally is about long and straight. I have always loved titleist drivers, but have never thought they were the most forgiving. The aldila voodoo shaft vs6 is great. Perfect trajectory with seemingly low spin(haven't been on monitor). Also, the shaft is $250 dollars new and I got the driver for $369. Nice deal. The club is easy to hit with great distance and great aesthetics.
