Tour Edge Exotics Drivers

Tour Edge Exotics Drivers

DESCRIPTION

Constructed from 15-3-3-3 Beta Titanium, this technology allows more weight to be placed in the sole for remarkable forgiveness and a perfect launch angle. Utilizing Combo-Brazing process, the elimination of welding results in a deeper, lower center of gravity (c.g.) for unprecedented performance and a smooth, velvety feel. The forged titanium face puts out a explosive power.

With the right shaft, this thing is pure dynamite! I originally got the stiff flex in the Fuji HL shaft and performance was pretty good, adding some yards to my drives, but the feel was "harsh" and I was inconsistent with it. I tried the regular flex and the distance dropped off but the feel was better. I ended up going for a driver fitting and ended up putting a Fuji ZCOM MW54 in it, stiff but not fully tipped (more of a "firm" flex to meet my swing characteristics) and I have picked up 20 yards on average with some drives to places on the course I've never seen before. This is a terrific combination for me.

The club has a slight draw bias, which is a good thing, even though the 10.5* I have sits perfectly square at address. The mirror finish on the face was somewhat distracting at first, but is not even noticeable once you get used to it. The top of the club is "clean" with no alignment markings. The weight ports on the sole give it a futuristic look but the weights are not removable / interchangeable.

The face is probably the most forgiving I have ever hit with minimal loss of distance on hits to either side of the sweet spot. Trajectory is not as high as a 10* Ping G2 with NV65 R shaft it replaced and it certainly does not balloon. The club is pricey but deals can be found. With the perfect shaft for me, my days of continuously searching for better performance have ended with this club! If you've tried it and didn’t like it, don't give up on this club until you've hit it with a shaft best suited for you.

Customer Service

Excellent! I received the original club from the retailer without a head cover. I mentioned that in an email to TE asking about the shaft tip size and a week later a head cover showed up on my doorstep free of charge. They also offer a lifetime warranty but reshafting will void that.

This driver is my favorite and I have hit everything. I find the center damn near everytime. The distance is awesome, the accuracy is supreme and its smashtastic sound is awesome. When I say I have hit everything it is true except for yonex maybe. The exotics is a beautiful club that has a mirror finish that when I hold to my face lights up my face like excalibur. The confidence I have now with this club is absolutely scary, I know exactly where the ball will go. I also have the fairway 3 wood 15 degree and I am just as happy with that club. Tour edge is the best line I have come across so far and I am an equipment hound. I am very technical and these things are THE cutting edge. Do yourself a favor and checkout the exotics line.

Model Reviewed: Exotics, 10.5°

I first heard about this club when reading Golf Digest's Hot List. I picked one up with a stock Graphite Design shaft and never hit it with that set-up. Instead, I opted to reshaft with a stiff Fujikura Tour Platform 27.3.

Although the 10.5° clubhead is high-launch and the shaft adds high-launch characteristics, this combo works very well for me. The trajectory is certainly on the high side but with no ballooning at all. High, boring, and deep.

I played the Titleist 905T last season (with the same Fuji shaft) and loved it. But the Exotics offers more distance with more forgiveness. The ball-flight is higher but not substantially so.

Solid, explosive, forgiving, and LONG.

My most consistent flaw is contact toward the toe. The Exotics forgives this tendency, almost entirely.

I must admit, the retail price for the Exotics is extreme. $400 is way too much. But the club can be had for much less on ebay, new or used.

This is the longest driver i have owned. Very, very hot and ideal feel. nice look at address. my only grip is i wish i had gotten a lower spin shaft then the nv. i bought the 10.5 so i need a lower trajectory shaft for it. it still flies far and straight.
