I was desperate to get my driver swing back. I've been hitting the 460 CC Volkswagens on a stick for many years now, but have seen no improvement. I pulled this one in pristine condition out of a used bin at the local big box. Best $@0 I've ever spent on my game. GOes further than the average 460 CC and keeps up with my high dollar boutique model. It's more accurate than the high dollar boutique model as well. It's no wonder you still see so many old Tommy Armour 845 Iron Sets alll over the course all these years later after the "Better" golf stores stopped carrying them. I don't know what their new stuff is like, but this driver stays in my bag when I absolutely have to have one in the fairway. I have the 7.5* model with the Grafalloy Elite shaft in stiff flex. Amazing club.

I have the newer 400cc version of this driver. Being one who tends to slice on drives (but not irons), I am always looking for a more forgiving driver. This one is very good. Ordinarily, I shift my stance a little left to compensate. With the Persimmon, I can maintain a proper stance in line with the target. I think the bore-thru design helps maintain head stability . . . which seems to be a problem with modern large head drivers. The stiff, factory UST shaft is perfect for this head. Distance is very good, as well. It's a shame Armour clubs are no longer sold in the big stores (Golf Galaxy, Golfsmith, etc.) so you could hit them in the demo area. I'm perfectly happy with it.

My best club was the 3 wood in that series so I bought the driver, 5 wood and 7 wood. It was not immediate but my driving is now straighter and longer. I have shot 80 twice in the last month and staying in the fairway has gone a long way. My driver is a 9.5 with a UST gold shaft from a proshopwarehouse site on the internet in Franklin Ohio.

A beautiful looking club that needs to be teed up HIGH for optimum performance. Once you get the tee height correct then its a big-hitting,staight shooter that rolls a long way too.A bit heavier swingweight overall so i'd recommend it for the bigger built player.

This is a well built driver, very pretty classic design and a nice Prolite Elite Grafalloy shaft, it's a very forgiving and long driver, it has a solid feel at impact unlike most titanium drivers out there, you also can't beat the price - very underrated club. I just got back from the driving range and I hit this club along with the Titleist 983K and the Cobra SS 350. It's very hard to choose from this lot, they all deliver but in the end, I went with the Tommy Armour - I thought it was longer and more accurate. I'm taking out my old 845 Silver Scot irons and see what happens. Well done Tommy Armour!

Customer Service

No contact with them yet although years ago, they were very accomodating when I asked them to bend my irons to a flat lie.

The only other club i can hit as good (straight/far) is the Deep Red 305 cc no longer available. I love the classic wood look to it. All my buddies put their expensive drivers back in the bag and always want to hit this. IT'S AWESOME.
