TaylorMade Tour Burner Drivers

TaylorMade Tour Burner Drivers

DESCRIPTION

Dual crown and weighted power-base promote increased carry and distance. Modern head shape promotes lower, deeper and precision-placed CG for higher launch angle and lower spin. SuperFast Technology promotes increased swing speed, faster ball speed and added distance. Inverted Cone Technology dramatically expands the portion of the clubface that delivers high COR for consistently longer drives on off-center hits. SuperFast 60-gram shaft is exceptionally lightweight and stable to promote greater distance and accuracy.

Just bought this club, easily added 20 yards to my swing. Off center hits became straighter as a direct result of the low center of gravity.

I just bought this driver after having an R7 Draw, Nike SQ2 5300, and most recently, the R5 Dual TP(which I had for the previous 9-10 months). I have to say, this driver is in a class of its own.

First off, the sound this thing makes is awesome. Not overly loud, yet certainly not quiet...doesn't sound like a tin can either. Just a nice "explosion".

Second, this thing BOMBS them. I've never got as much distance out of a previous driver then I got from this club. Off center hits still travel pretty straight and almost as far. You DEFINITELY know when you hit it solid, and man does it GO!

The stock shaft is pretty good. On a good shot I had a medium penetrating ball flight, and on a bad shot I had a high ball flight, only losing about 10 yds off a good one.

The club is also very workable. Can definitely shape a draw or fade off the tee, yet it is very forgiving as well.

Overall, this thing is a great club, and well worth the price today. I got it slightly used off of eBay for only $120, and if I were to put a price tag on it's performance, I'd instantly say $400. It's that good.

Customer Service

Haven't had to deal with TaylorMade yet, however, their clubs are very well built.

Model Reviewed: TaylorMade Tour Burner Irons

I upgraded to these irons after hitting some very old blade irons for about a year. I went to the range and shot about five bad shots before I got a solid hit. After that though, I was hitting them far better than I normally hit my old ones. It't not like I'll suddenly start hitting par, but these clubs will certainly help along with lessons. Very awesome clubs that I believe would be great for low to high handicaps.

Bought this about a month ago - great price, based on swing monitor readings at Golfsmith. It didn't play like I expected. I traded it for a Titleist 909 Comp.

The Tour Comp is easy to swing, looks really nice at set up although the face is a bit closed. Swings easy and calls for an easy swing to move the ball. When you swing it hard the ball flies high and seems to float, not much distance. I hit my old Titleist 905T about 20 yards further.

Its for an easy swinger, and I'm not that agressive with my drives. If you don't overswing it's easy to place the ball in the fairway, but not too far. Best drive I got was 240 yrds

Customer Service

Golfsmith techs could have cared less what I wanted or how I was doing on their monitor

Model Reviewed: TaylorMade Tour Burner 10.5 Reg

The driver does not appear to setup square though that is the claim. I have been using 10.5 or 11.5 degree drives for the last 7 or 8 years with a regular flex shaft. All my drivers were Titleist, Mizuno, or Callaway Tour drivers. Square face alignment lower ball flight. Well I tried the Tour Burner in 10.5 Regular flex and was completely disappointed and surprised. A low spin high launch design, it was definitely high launch, spin I am not too sure. This driver ballooned so much it would make the early Biggest Big Berthas look like a low boring shot. In case you don't remember, the Callaway was a balloon maker deluxe. The ball took off high, went higher, hung in the air and dropped like a wet rag. Was surprised since the Burner ('07) didn't have tendency. Returned the club immediately and am going to try a 9.5 with regular flex. I had the Callaway Hyper X Tour in 10.5 and YS 6 regular which was great but couldn't adapt to the loudness of the strike. Hoping the 9.5 does the trick.
