TaylorMade TaylorMade R7 Draw Drivers

TaylorMade TaylorMade R7 Draw Drivers

DESCRIPTION

Switched from the R5 Draw to R7 460 Draw. No transition time at all, began hitting this one perfectly right away. I had a Prolaunch 55 Regular flex in my R5, but the ReAx stock shaft in the R7 Draw is an incredible shaft, feels very similar to the ProLaunch. No need for an upgrade in shaft - as long as the off-the-shelf flex fits you well.

As has been stated many times in these reviews, the 'Draw' clubs are not magic. You still have to make a good swing. Just a little technology assisting you, that's all.

As with a lot of Taylormade drivers, the feel is solid, the sound is good, and the distance and forgiveness are money.

Model Reviewed: TaylorMade r7 DRAW

I wanted to post this review for any beginners to this great game. I started playing for the first time ever in May 2007. I Since then I try to get out at least once a week to play. I hit my irons very well but have always had problems with my driver and woods. Off the tee I would use a Nike Sq (the original one released) and use to normally hit a wicked banana slice. Just to be clear, this had everything to do with my swing and not the club (do not want to make it seem it is the clubs fault). You do not want to know where I was playing my second shot from. After these several months of playing some one recommended that I try TM r7 Draw. I hit theirs and liked the feel of it so I went out and purchased my own.

Few things I can comment on:

1) This took away the banana slice, for the most part. I find that my balls now either go straight or they will go to the right. How much to the right depends. I still manage to hit it into the trees but more often than not I am hitting from the rough a few feet from the fairway. In my opinion much better that the other fairway.

2) More pronouced feeling on hits. When you hit the ball right with this club you feel it. I think the Nike club muted the feeling.

3) Better notion of where the club head is. The weighting of the club head seems to promote for me where it is. I know it sounds a bit strange but am not sure how else to desribe it. It also feels much better toi me when I swing.

Overall, a very good club. I is not a exactly a miracle club but it does help. I have a feeling that the more I play with it the more I will be able to straigthen it out. Nothing can compensate for a good swing but this club does help. If you are suffering from a really bad slice it is worth giving this club a try.

Model Reviewed: taylor made r7 460 draw driver

I was playing a r5 dual driver from taylor made and my ball kept slicing off to the right in the air. The draw driver eliminated that by soaring down the left side of the fairway and drawing right into the middle of the fairway. So far I've played 2 rounds of golf and my scores have went from 84 to about 78. Just on Saturday two guys in my 4-some hit and are going to buy one today.

As a new golfer-(9 or 10 rounds played total) I am probably not the best person to be reviewing any type of golf club. I was previously hitting, or attempting to anyway- the Nike Sasquatch Sumo 460. What a difference!!! With the Sumo- I was ready to quit golfing because I could never find my ball after a 65 yard drive right into the woods or the adjoining fairway. I traded the Nike in, tested 6 or 7 clubs on the launch monitor, and was told the R7 Draw was the club best suited for my horrendous 93 mph swing. I do hit my irons fairly well- so i'm sure alot of my issues are NOT equipment related. On the range at the club I belong to, I consistantly hit a slight fade well over the 250 yard mark!! I almost cr@pped myself with joy!!!
Seriously, my swing is so poor that even this club doesn't really draw for me, however, it hits better than anything I've tried, and i've either tested or purchased almost every driver made in the last couple of years.

I am a sales mgr for a dealership and i play twice a week.I had a horrible slice problem, the right side of the fairway was starting to feel like home.no matter how i tried to recorrect my swing and stance nothing helped untill i found this driver.first time i tee up i was playing with 4 guys that are pretty good.i felt like i held them back because i was always digging my self out of the trees, ruff and the other fairway.out of the 18 holes i played for the first time.i out drove all of them by 30 yards recorrected my hard slice and ended up on the fairway every time.I also notice it gave me confidence now that i was in a better position.this is the most amazing driver i have ever played with.thank you taylormade.

Model Reviewed: Taylormade r7 Draw Driver

I am about a 20 handicap golfer who often has problems with slicing off the tee. I purchased this driver for $199 at my local golf shop/driving range. I went out onto the range and hit 10 balls with my old driver, and then hit 10 with my Draw driver. The difference was like night and day. Out of probably about 60 balls, I probably only sliced 10 of them, and these balls would have been within 10 yards of the fairway. With my old driver, I would have been lucky to have hit 10 straight out of the 60! I also added about 10 yards of carry, not counting roll! This club is worth every penny I spent for it and outperforms all of the drivers listed below. I would give it more than 5 stars if possible!

Recently bought the R7 Draw with the stock shaft R flex. Had been playing a Calloway titanium 460. What a difference. From the first time I hit it I love the R7. I am an 8 handicap. Since I bought the R7 I have shot 75, 79, 79, and 2-under 34 for 9 holes. The club is very forgiving. I've added maybe 10-20 yards. My swing speed is 95. With the Calloway I was maxing at 240 to 250. With the R7 I'm maxing at about 260 to 265. The stock shaft has a great feel to it and really gives a good sense of the position of the clubhead. I just can't say enough about this club. If you are looking for a driver do yourself a favor and demo this club. It's not cheap but it's been worth every penny for me.

Well, I saw nobody had reviewed this club, so I figured I'd give my 2 cents, and maybe someone could benefit. I found one of these babies on the net for like 80 bucks, practically new, so I had to give it a swing even though I had a good feeling it wouldn't be for me. I just love to hit anything TaylorMade. I haven't had a slice problem in years, that's why I guessed it wouldn't do me much good. The Draw name isn't a lie, which is probably most important, considering the main buyers of this BigStick are gonna be the banana ballers. I usually play a str8 ball or gentle draw, so this club for me meant snap hooks. I messed with my swing to counteract it- I really held off turning my hands over, which should produce a slice, and it went str8. But to me, that's no way for a slicer to improve, it only sacrifices distance, and makes you make varied swings with different clubs. For you righties, if you buy this baby, truly don't be afraid to set up & aim at the right side of the short grass, instead of aiming way left to compensate for the banana. Big time slicers, you should see a straightening out of ball flight, but nothing can truly fix a fundamentally flawed swing other than professional lessons. Best thing I can tell you is, get a light shaft and turn those wrists over baby!
I think, along with lessons, the best driver to truly fight a slice is the Taylor Made 425- the shaft is shorter and head a bit smaller, so it's really easy to square at impact. That's probably the way to go.
