R7 Quad TP 8.5 Speeder 757 Stiff
First and foremost, moveable weight technology is not a gimmick. I will have to admit that I was very sceptical of these types of clubs when they first emerged onto the market. What finally got me to try the R7 Quad TP was the fact that I was frustrated with every other club on the market! What I found is that apparently, I have more of a tour style, steeper swing that causes an immense amount of backspin to be put on the ball, and that as we all know, backspin means "pop-fly" short drives. This meant that the harder I swung, the higher the ball went. I tried every club and shaft on the market in 06 and actually purchased the Callaway X-460 8.5 with a high kick Grafalloy shaft. This was also a pop-up machine. All of these clubs have such a low and deep center of gravity that if you have a fast, steeper swing, none of the regular brand name clubs will work for you especially with the shaft options that are available.
Customer Service Used when I cracked the face of the first R5 Dual Type D I purchased. They were great. Also, the TM website is the best golf product site on the web for info about the clubs. I factor this into customer service as well. Similar Products Used: Titleist 983E (An excellent club)

Let me start by saying the TP version is not for the beginner or player who does not know their swing. It is long and very workable when hit consistantly on the sweet spot. The slightest adjustments in swing path/face position makes draws or fades very easy. I underwent a swing revamp and was starting to pull and hook my old driver a bit. I really lost my ability to fade the ball with the driver. It's back now. 1st time on the course with it I ripped a 275yd. fade around a dogleg right, setting up a nice SW into the green. My old driver, I had been barely hanging onto the left edge or double-crossing it through the fairway. This club takes some real getting used to but when put to use by an experienced player it is a fine stick. Are you kidding? I've had a fade which has caused me to internally debate whether to pull the big dog out on narrow fairways -- I start counting in odd numbers 1,3...

I researched different drivers on this site and liked what I read about this club. The R7 is out of my $ range but I wanted a driver to give me the option of adjustable weights. Found it brand new on ebay for $196 (add weights, wrench, manual inc.). This club rocks! I took it to the driving range with the factory set draw bias weights in and hit an entire large bucket long and straight. I have a natural fade but can draw easily with this club. Very forgiving and long. Huge sweet spot. The ability to tweak it in the future with the movable weights is a nice bonus considering I'll be married to this club for a while. Very pleased. Customer Service Haven't used it. Similar Products Used: T.M. R580 XD, T.M. Firesole 9.5, T.M. Firesole 7.5 |

Most forgiving and straightest driver I have ever owned. Mine has the stiff Mitsubishi Rayon shaft, and it loves to be worked. Just go after it and give it a good swing and it does all the work for you! I never feel like I can't hit the fairway and it builds confidence every time I pull it out of my bag. Wow, this is a fantastic driver. For Me is the longest, straightest and easiest club to hit I've ever put my hands on. I reshafted with a YS-6 and it's been a wicked combo, I wouldn't even consider playing any other driver on the market. Customer Service Taylor Made service is second to none. I swing 110 MPH, and I never could get this shaft moving anywhere. The 83 gram shaft is a bit heavy, and I probably should have gotten the 9.5 because I never could get the ball up. Moveable weights are nice and do make a difference but I ended up just moving them to the same position as a regular r5 type D. I would go with the regular r5 with your favorite shaft before I'd shell out the $300 on ebay or $600 at the shop to get this. I'm sure the pro's could smash this but I don' t know many average golfers who would benefit from this club. Customer Service TM should get a national medal for their customer service, it's so good. This is TaylorMade's best kept secret. Longer and straighter than the R7 (or any other driver I've ever played). You can get a great deal on these now on ebay. I can't say enough good things about this club. Customer Service NA Similar Products Used: TaylorMade R7
