TaylorMade R5 Dual N Drivers

TaylorMade R5 Dual N Drivers

DESCRIPTION

The r5 dual features widely spaced, dual TaylorMade Launch control (TLC) cartridges that are pre-configured and permanent. This positions the weight ideally so you don't have to. With Launch Control promoting an extremely high MOI (moment of inertia) and proper clubhead rotation, the r5 dual Type N delivers remarkable forgivness and a straight ball flight while the r5 dual Type D provides a draw. Meanwhile, the exceptionally large 450cc titanium clubhead not only looks substantial at address, but it also gives you solid contact, consistently straighter shots and of course, confidence. And with TaylorMade's revolutionary inverted Cone Technology, the expanded COR of the r5 results in higher ball velocity on off center hits for longer, more consistent drives.

What a feeling!!!!Walking happily to the bank for the past week to check my bank balance from my looser flight mate.I used to recover back all the losses after shifted to R5 driver.Previously i used R7 460 SR Shaft but it seems that this R5 trustworthiness to his owner is more secured.Go and get it to those wo wanted to have same feeling like mine!

If your looking for an accurate driver then this is probably a good choice for most average golfers. I am an 18 handicap who usually drives the ball between 250-270. I purchsed the R5N 10.5 degree with the stock shaft. It is pretty godd but will now swap out the stock shaft with a Proforce UST 75 to match my 3 and 5 wood. Driver is pretty forgiving although I did notice a slight draw even with the Nuetral set up of the R5. Keeps the ball in the fairway more than the Fusion with a little more distance.

I bought this driver 180 Euros(200 dollars)with a Fujikura Speeder 757 Stiff. I really liked the Speeder shaft but it was a bite heavy/stiff for me, so I re-shafted it with Fuji Vista Pro 70 Stiff cutted in 44.5 inches to get more control.

TM r5 is a very long driver with right shaft. With Vista Pro I am hitting nice high draw, maybe a little bit too high but that isn't a problem.

It's not the best driver to work the ball, but it is really easy to hit.

Great driver! I worked on developing a draw (to rid myself of a slice), which was great for my irons, but caused problems with my Cobra SS380 Driver. The closed face made me fight off a hook, so I had to open the face up which made for a high ball flight and consistancy problems. The r5 went on sale, and I decided to check out the neutral.

There was one with the NV Green 75g shaft. It was a 10.5 degree and the monitor showed it made up for the shaft lowering the ball flight. Low spin. Took it out for two rounds. I track fairways hit, greens in reg, and # of chips/puts per hole. This club/shaft combo has come close to doubling my fairways hit.

At first I lost a little distance compaired to the Cobra with its YS 5.1 stiff. I believe due to the YS 5.1 shaft being a bit whippy. Later in both rounds I did have a couple of drives that went as far as my Cobra SS380 did (one rolled to 290+ which for me is way good). As I was adjusting through the round, I was generating more swing speed & distance due to the greater consistancy. The combination of the r5 & NV 75 Stiff makes for incredible control.

I have only being playing for 12months

Just bought this so I havent tested it on the course yet, just on the shop computer.

I was a Wilson man through and through but have found the TM to help me improve my game.

I tried 6 Drivers while in American Golf discount (this R5 was on sale £120)
The diffrence between them was very little.

I have rated the clubs based on distance, then accuracy, then price.

Lets face it if Im on the course,I would rather drive the ball into the trees 300 yards than onto a fairway 100yards.

All stock stiff shafts with accuracy based on 30 balls approx 95 to 100mph swing speed.

Calloway FT3 10.5%, was 245yrds carry, 45% £250

Calloway X460 10%, was 235yrds carry, 43% £180

Ping G5 was 10.5%, 255yrds carry, 38% £190

Taylormade R7 draw was 10.5%, 210yrds carry 52% £200

The Taylormade R5 neutral was 10.5%, 245yrds carry, 42%, £120

Cost v distance v Accuracy (In that order)
The R5 won simple as that.
Rating basen on in shop performance.

I was on my way to buy a 580 XD new. I happened to see this club used (barely) for $150.00. I took it to the range and after a small bucket I was sold. This thing is great I was hitting all my shots straight, and to the 250 mark (sometimes beyond it). I don't hit too long but I was consistant with this driver. Great driver, keeps me on the fairways!

Taylor Made R5 Dual N 9.5 stiff MAS 65.

Neutral it's not. This is a hook machine. Good luck with this one. Enough said. The shaft is very weak. Grafaloy 35 regular is far stiffer than MAS 65 stiff.

2 for value - 278 CDN to hook a ball. Most of the other cost 450 for a hook.

Will stay with my 9 degree TM320 Tour - a real neutral tour club with a real square face. May slice some, but that's preferred to duck hooks.

I bought this driver (type N, 10.5*, regular shaft)used on eBay for less than $140. I tried to find it at Second Swing, but they only had two in stock nationwide (I'm a lefty). I just started playing this year (I'm 47); I took some group lessons and a couple of private lessons last fall, then messed up my shoulder and had to sit out until this spring.

I've been struggling with a pretty consistent push that occasionally morphs into a nasty push slice. Over this summer, I've made changes to my set-up, shortened my backswing, and it has helped alot. I'm no power hitter by any means, with an average drive of between 200-205 with roll. I was using a Big Bertha 454, then picked up a used Ben Hogan C-S3. The Hogan gave me a little more distance and consistency, with a VERY occasional drive (with roll) of around 250. OK, I only managed that about 5 times...

Anyway, I played my first round with the R5 today. On my next review, I hope I'll have to change my level of play to "shoots in the 90s"!

I only played 9 holes (it was blazing hot and humid here), but I was dead straight on every drive and hit 5 of 6 fairways. The one I missed was dead straight but a little RIGHT (remember, I'm a lefty), which was probably the first time I've ever missed right. Straight is great...PLUS I averaged a good 15-20 yds more than I had been with the Hogan.

I broke 50 (47) for the first time on a course of any difficulty (slope 125), mainly because I had better angles for my second shots. Wish me luck in keeping this going! I'm sold on the R5.
