Ok I bought this club of eBay after reading the reviews on this site and fell in love with it from the off. It is without doubt the easiest driver I have ever used and was still long enough for me to out drive most of the people I play against easily. Then one fine day I thought it would be a good idea to change the shaft in the club to an X-flex, WRONG WRONG WRONG bad idea. I ended losing lots of distance and even more control so I sold it and purchased the Callaway 454 thinking that is would give me back the distance and control the Tisi Tec offered me WRONG and WRONG again. I have now decided to sell the Callaway and go back to the Ping. Don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with the 454 it’s a good club but in my view it is nowhere near the club the Tisi Tec is and costs 4x’s as much. If you’re looking for a new driver I would advise you to buy this club, OK it won’t look as good in your bag as the latest model but trust me it will perform just as well. Ive had mine for 2 seasons and have always loved the club. It is LONG. That is the short of it but it would not be fair to say just that. Ive learned to work the ball with this club, in the shortest amount of time for any wood - with confidence. The ball flight is perfect and penetrating (in this setup anyway)which allows good course management in even windy conditions. Anyway, I was content with no need to endorse my feeling about the club until recently trying some of the newer, more expensive massive headed drivers. Ive tried the latest from TM, Cleveland, Callaway and even Ping. I have not seen any REAL improvement yet from these over my club and am glad to still own this thing. I almost sold it while waiting for a new Cally 454 to arrive and while the new 454 is great, it was simply not BETTER. Other brands mentioned were tried on the course as well but nothing stood out. Just my honest 2 cents here on a club that was designed right the first time and is still hard to beat. My dad recently upgraded to the G2 and passed down his old Ping TISI tec driver to me. Since I recieved it my handicap has shot down in a short amount or time from 30 to 25. This is a great long, straight driver and i recommend it to any mid to high handicap Customer Service not needed yet |

What a wonderful driver, very forgiving and long enough (270 avg). It is the RUF hosel with a custom YS-6 shaft that was installed by the WRX department......great combination! When struck in the sweet spot this will yeald 300 yd drives, yet even the off center hit travel 250 and the best part is the FORGIVENESS !!! I have hit more fairways with this driver than any other driver I played. These are selling on ebay for a fraction of their original price, so go get one today. Aright, im not gunna lie like everyone else and there consistent 300+ yard drives, cuz i find it hilarious... I'm 16 and picked this driver up used for a very good price... 180 canadian. Anyways, so far im impressed it has greatly increased my accuracy and distance even. Average with this for me is about 260-270 but if i want to step it up i can go about 280. The thing that surprised me after reading these reviews is that i can easily work the ball right to left or opposite of that. I can hit it low or high, its amazing. I have the stock stiff flex shaft on it and i dont even know what the hosel configurations are. Good Sound also though, so if you want something you can control and hit down the middle or work around, pick it up.. only note was it was awkward to look down at for a bit, but i easily got over it Customer Service Havent Used Similar Products Used: Taylor Made 580XD, 540XD, 360 Cobra 440SZ Varios Wal-Mart Products |

Ping TISI TEC
I fractured the face of my Ping TISI and they sent me the TEC. I've played it for three rounds and found that I hit it dead straight vs. a fade with the TISI. The distance is about the same (250 carry). It's not as long as the TaylorMades my friends hit, but I am smack in the middle with this club. I never did like the Ping stock shafts and play with the ProForce 65 shaft, which for the money is one of the best out there. I just picked up a new TaylorMade 580XD with the Aldila NV sahft on ebay for $240 (couldn't pass it up). It will be interesting to see how the TEC stacks up. It's hard to throw a club into the corner that you hit consistently well so the TaylorMade will have to show me a lot. I know I can get my money back easily on the 580. Customer Service I've always had good luck with Ping. |

Ping TiSi TEC Driver
I love this club. No I have not tried everything ie. taylormade 500 series or callaway erc but WHY? I cannot immagine a club that can better the trajectory and distance of this driver. The trajectory is tour-like and the distance makes me feel like a driving champ. The only minus might be the ocassional pull shot O.B. But as I get this under control, the flight is going to be pure fairway (I am sure). I am using the LSO hosel and for fast swingers I would recommend stiff shafts even for this swing spec. However, with PING, you have choice and proper fitting available. This will give you the drive you see from the gallery at the tour range - HONEST. Customer Service PING SERVICE, not needed but I know its there. |

Ping TiSI Tec 8.5* ET, UST Gold Stiff
I'm a golfer that is on the cusp of shooting in the 80's on a consistant basis. Every little edge I can get I will take. I just bought this driver off of Ebay for less than $100 including shipping after reading all of the 52 or 53 previous reviews. In a nutshell I read how straight the driver was and some of you guys said it was the longest driver you ever hit, while some of you said it was the shortest. I knew that the 8.5 ET was the equivalent of a 10* driver. I knew my swingspeed being 100mph, that I needed a stiff shaft. All I can say is that it has been very wet here in the northeast so I can't tell you yet about the length, but the accuracy is unbelievable. When I keep track of my score I regularly keep track of my GIR, Fairways hit, and putts. I've been using a Bertha Warbird for almost ten years because I didn't think that technology really made that much difference. With my old Big Bertha during my 2003 campaign I averaged 33% fairways. Admittedly I've been hitting straighter lately so maybe toward the end you might say 35%. I played 9 holes today with my "new" Ping driver and hit 5 out of 7 fairways...that's 71%. The two I didn't hit were kind of fluky. The first was on the first tee. I hadn't hit the club on a range so I hooked the ball into the trees. By the second tee I was dead on straight. As a matter of fact, the second time I missed the fairway, it was the ninth hole. Remember after missing everything on the first hole I was in the middle third of the fairway most of the afternoon. On the ninth tee I wanted to see what would happen if I over cooked it a little. I was fading left, but it was a tight landing area and I still wasn't that far off. Technology has made me a believer. When things dry out, I'll let you know what I think of the distance. Final comments are that the large size head didn't bother me at all. The club itself feels light. After hitting a few in a row near the yardage sticks in the middle of the fairway, it automatically inspired confidence. Customer Service I have PING ZING Irons. Their customer service is very good. Ping TISI Tec
Good solid feel and nicely balanced. Definetaly shorter than average due to overly high flight. 8.5 degree head hits more like a 11 degree (all carry-no roll even on rock hard spring fairways). Stock shaft is horrible : high tourque and too soft. Eg - my stiff shaft flex tested to about a 250 or about a soft regular. Reshafted with a Proforce 65 stiff (262 cpm) for much better control and far straighter but no real difference difference in ball flight other than its now far less hook prone. Very pleased with the accuracy of this driver but distance is disappointing. I might try a harder, lower trajectory ball and see if it helps. And... don't even try to work the ball with this driver. Customer Service Good , the dealer gave me a good price on my Adams trade in. Similar Products Used: Wilson Staff, Adams AT Tour and lots of generic titanium drivers. |
