Awesome golf club, hits long and far, but the quality, well... the back weight in the back fell out, but they said it was the first time they had seend anything like it, so it was probably just my club, but the service was very good, got it back in like 3 or 4 weeks. Altogether, a very good club.

I recently switched to a Ping 8.5/UST 75 combo. This driver is going to change my game. Distance has never been my problem, consistency is where I suffer. Switched to a 975D earlier in the summer and was hitting it very well, but the Ping gives me more forgiveness and about 10-15 extra yards.

In response to Geoff: I'm about your size and consistently take it past 300, but I've hit all the aforementioned clubs 300+. Size doesn't mean anything if you can't utilize your power. SS is overated, all that matters in distance is how you effectively load the shaft. Have that measured at a local clubfitter and you'll find your answer.

The first time I hit this club at the driving range my first thoughts were, "ohhh my." The ball kept on going, flying past the 250yrd marker. That was with a nice and easy swing! I was so amazed because normally I drive the ball around 190yrds. I don't drive the ball 250 with the Ping everytime (210 average) but just to venture into the unknown once in a while was a thrill. The price is quite high but for the golfer who is looking to use their short irons in, this club is the answer. But the best feature about this club is not the distance you get but the forgiveness you will recieve on not so perfect hits. I drove a ball 150yrds on the fairway by hitting half of the ball with the shaft! I tried a lot of clubs out there in the market (biggest big bertha, great big bertha, liquidmetal, cobra, ect. and even some in the japanese market, (kamuitour Asiri) but the Ping Driver....... seems like it was touched by God!

Long, high and straight. Probably similar distance as GBB and Hawkeye, but higher ball flight and more carry with less roll. One of several very good drivers on the market. I didn't see enough difference to shell out the big bucks.

As you can see I have tried most of the top quality drivers recently, the Ping is my latest attempt to find a driver I can get on with! I had the Ping custom fitted (10 degree, stiff shaft, draw hosel) which, like my putter(ping zing2), I would recommend to anyone thinking of buying Ping. The first thing that grabs you about this club is the size of the head, it is huge! Whilst this does give you a feeling of great confidence on the tee do not allow the size of the head to lull you into a false sense of security--these can be "duffed" like anything else.I must say that my own experiences with this club have not coincided with those of many of your reviewers. Yes,the club is quite long but not longer than say the Titleist and I have certainly not noticed any great improvement in the distance I drive the ball.On the positive side the quality of this club is top notch (far better than the Titleist) and I think that aestheticallly this is the finest driver on the market. I do like the way this club sits at address (something incidently that I never liked on the 975D),and when you make contact with the ball it sounds superb. I really want to like this club and intend to stick with it despite a few reservations. Finally,do not buy this club thinking the huge head will compensate for faults in your swing, I can assure you it will not. Try before you buy is a must with this club.

Contrary to popular bragging, I do not hit this driver 300+ yards. Having said that, let me brag that this club is easier to hit than my old GBB, is about 10-15 yards longer and STRAIGHT! I hit more fairways and use 1 club less to reach greens. Is this club worth the $400 bones? ABSOLUTELY!!! It is an impact club. Give me this club, a good wedge and a trusty putter and watch the birdies fly! If you only buy one club this year, make it the TiSi...you won't regret it.

I'm not impressed. There I said it. I put down about $400 on one of these beauties and after a little bit of tweaking I found my swing. The catch for me is that I am not hitting this thing much past the 250 - 275 I used to get out of my last driver a Yonnex Super ADX 200. which cost me roughly 1/2 the price 2 years ago.

This driver takes a little getting used to, but after the trial and error period, I've found one heck of a gem... This driver crushes the ball... with a good swing I carry the ball easily over 250 yards. At the range the other day I hit several 300 yarders. The only drawback for me was that the stock shaft was terrible, after reshafting I have been very pleased with the results... Typically I don't fare well with the driver in my hand, with the TiSi that has changed... The drives at the range had many people staring.... including myself!
