Ping G2 Driver
Have just played 2 rounds with this driver and its awesome. I was out driving a three times a week 5 handicapper and hitting the ball straight. For a 6ft 2in guy and 14 stone was surprised to find that the soft regular shaft suited me better than some thing stiffer. Buy this club but have an open mind on shaft type. The club is easy to use and will hopefully allow me to go below 80. This is the only review i have ever done on anything, such is the strenght of my recommendation Customer Service N/A Similar Products Used: Cobra SZ 400. Ram 450 ti, |

Ping G2
After reading all the reviews about the G2 driver. I decided to attend a Ping demo day at the local driving range. I tested quite a few different options. The option that I felt most comfortable with was the 10 degrees with an Aldila N65 stiff shaft. This works for me quite well, the ball goes a long way and seems to keep the ball in play. I am used to playing with a smaller head size and still not used to the size of this one. I hit the ball a long way but some of the reviews I have read claim to hit the ball miracle distances. If this is true maybe Tiger should play with this club so he can drive par 5s. Get a tape measure! Great club though. Customer Service I have played with Ping irons for a long time and never had a problem with them so I never had to use Ping's Customer Service. Really strong driver. I don't like the looks and I don't particularly like the feel, but this club is long and pretty straight. I got out 7 yards of more carry than my driver. Ball flight was slightly higher, but spin was lower and the overall ball flight was pretty impressive. |

Ping G2 460 cc Soft regular shaft
This driver is one of the greatest I've ever tried and owned. I am a 15 year old girl with a pretty average golf swing. Recently I have been in the market for a new driver. The one I have been using is my dad's Ignite stiff shaft. Since the club was not working that well for me my dad and I went to the pro shop. Come to find out the shaft was too stiff for me and pretty much any girl or women with an average swing. I went out to the driving range with a women's nike driver, some cobra, and a G2. The G2 was the club that everyone recommended. The first G2 I demoed was with a Gaffaloy regular shaft. It didn't work very well at first. The women's nike (NDS) was amazing at first but it didn't feel that great when you hit it in the sweet spot. I went back to the pro shop and they had a different G2 with a soft regular shaft. I tried it and loved it. When you hit it in the sweet spot or anywhere else for that matter, you don't feel anything and it sounds great. It's like butter as some people say. The one thing that really helped me get the ball flight right was finding out how to hit it in the sweet spot. Since there was tape on the club, it would show where the ball would hit, and I could correct my swing if it was not in the middle. I would totally recommend putting some clear tape on your driver's face to know where the ball is hitting. It will make the difference between a driver you love and a driver that you don't. Another thing is the different shafts. I truly beleive that if you have the right shaft it will affect every aspect of your swing. To make things easy, I would 100% recommend this club. Not only does it look cool, the headcover is convenient and it seems like it will last. The only thing I would recommend is to try as many different shafts as you can with this club. Ping's website helps you with your fittings if you don't know what will work best for you. I am sure that this is probably the best club I have ever used and if you want a great driver, go for this one, it is worth your money and you (and your friends)will notice a night and day difference the moment you hit it. *go with the shaft that is right for your strength and swing speed, a stiff shaft will work better for strong men or women with a faster swing speed, senior flex is also a good choice for men and women who are not that strong with a slower swing speed, regular is just what it is, used by the average man and slightly above average women, regular soft is what I use and it is easier to hit than a regular flex and slightly stiffer than ladies, ladies flex is great for women with average swings, it gives more kick with less effort. You should also find a loft that will be the best for you. Slower swing= higher loft, faster swing= lower loft. Ping G2 11,5 loft, regular flex
My swingspeed is 100mph and my handicap is 12,1 now and falling fast! Played my first round of 80 today. Just on the brink of breaking the barrier. Thanks to .... Ping G2. I would never, never have selected a Ping club as my driver. I was playing a Titleist 983k until my dad bought a G2 EZ 15,5. Wow, that was a fun club to hit. Anyway, I tried the 11,5 model and I cannot believe this club. It's hard to explain but it doesn't feel like you are hitting a driver at all. The feel is incredible, very soft, but the ball just goes a mile. The most important thing => I hit fairway after fairway, it's almost boring :) Oh, and I'm able to draw or fade the ball. Ping has another legendary club here. This one will still be talked about in a few years. Buy it! Really! Customer Service Not used. This driver is fast approaching legendary status. I've hit and owned everything worth having and sold and traded them all after purchasing this driver. It looks, feels, and sounds excellent. Heel and toe hits stay in the fairway and sweet spot hits just rocket down the fairway very long and very impressive. I've been hitting it 2 months and have yet to hook or slice it. Even the pros at my local course have added this to there bags. Driving used to be the weak part of my game, but no longer. Demo this club, I guarantee you'll love it. Customer Service Ping takes care of the customer whenever possible. Fortunately their products are so good you rarely need them. Similar Products Used: You name it I've owned it or hit it. |

I sold my Cobra SZ. Very good club, long...started to develop hook though...face is closed about 2 degrees. I went into driver search mania full throttle: Cleveland Launcher Comp, Taylormade r7, Callaway, etc. Never considered the Ping G2. I was out in Palm Springs, still without a driver, and demo'd the G2. It has a 'mojo' to it...solid, comfortable, accurate, workable and deceptively long. I tried the Ping stiff and NV 65...Ping's shaft was better for me. A pro from a different course said Ping's shaft is superior...there is a buzz about this club...I keep running into people who say the same thing. A large Palm Springs retailer told me it was the most commonly selected driver for people trading in Cobras, Callaways, Taylormade, etc...he had no motivation to tell me this as the G2 is a less expensive driver and he was down on inventory (plus I had already made up my mind). My point: the Ping G2 is flying a bit under the radar screen as far as marketing, PR and advertising $$'s but really is a special club. Put it in the mix with the best...it's accuracy will ultimately deliver the distance. Confidence=Distance, it has always been more important than Iron Byron testing. Customer Service Don't know...everything I hear is exceptionally. Similar Products Used: Cobra SZ, Cleveland Launcher (comp & ti), Taylormade |

I just got this driver 3 weeks ago and it is SWEET! I have owned a Ping TISI and a Ping TISI Tec driver. You could not push those models, they would slice if you really went after them. This G2 is as forgiving as your Mother! Miss hits go straight and still long, sweet spot shots are nasty long! I have added at least 30 yards to my drives with the G2. I regularly hit it over 200 yards, nice and straight. Goes where you aim it! Not bad for an old lady! I use a men's soft regular shaft cut to 44 1/2" with the 460 cc head. Get one but don't let your friends try it, let them think you are the one behind the power. Customer Service Ping is by far one the best customer service companies out there. Replaced a shaft on my 3 wood, no questions asked when it started losing distance and sounding funny. I carry a nice Taylor Made driver that is about 5 years old. It's a nice club and I've been happy with it. That is until I tried the G2. Wow! Just for kicks one afternoon, I took a range demo of a new G2 out for a ride. My first drive of the day was a was the worst of about 40 balls and it had only a slight fade and ended up at about 200. No kidding! My worst hit was not all that bad. I proceeded from there to take progressively more aggresive swings and this club refused to let me get hurt. It seemed like the harder I hit the straighter and longer the ball flew. Just try it! |
