This is my first Ping driver and I now know why they are popular. Distance , forgiveness, looks, fell, sound are all above average. I have been using a Cobra Encore and the Ping are very comparable. It is a toss up to which I prefer as both are great.

I'm a total club junkie and was fitted recently on a launch monitor for a Ping G25 9.5 with the stock Ping 189D stiff shaft. The launch angle and low spin numbers were ideal for me and I liked the feel from the shaft, bit salty at the $350 price, but had a gift card and I bit the bullet and bought the driver. On the course it took a few holes to get used to the driver then I started to get it dialed in. I've played 3 rounds now with it and found it Confidence inspiring and VERY straight driver for me. The sweet spot is right on the alignment aid ( not so with my old G20 ) Maybe a little more run out than the G20 but very accurate, I found myself aiming the driver for certain spots on the fairway now. Thoroughly recommend this driver, get fitted first, made a difference for me.
