This is one of the best drivers I have hit off the tee. It isn't the stratest but the longest. Just like the Topflight commercial says ""close to the green how about close to the pin."" I know this is the taylor made product but that saying is true with this saying.

Model Reviewed: Deepface Driver, Fairway woods

I have played the TriMetal Deepface driver, 10.5 degrees with a firm graphite shaft. When I caught it right, the distance was incredible. However, I found the shaft to be too whippy for me, making solid contact a chore. I could not find the necessary tempo. The fairway woods are an entirely different story! Although they have the same firm flex graphite, I find them top performers when swinging with a nice smooth tempo. These clubs are long, real LONG. I've never had a problem with distance, thankfully. But these clubs are so long it's freaky. With a nice smooth swing, in benign conditions, I have hit my 15 degree 3 wood 260 yards from the fairway! Needless to say, it has drastically changed my philosophy on par five holes! My 19 and 21 degree TriMetals are also very long for their respective lofts, with all carrying the ball high with soft landings. I can go on and on raving about them but suffice to say, there is not a fairway wood out there that combines the forgiveness of the TriMetal with such incredible distance! I highly recommend them.

Customer Service

I did send a message through their customer service department and found their response to be timely and very helpful.

Model Reviewed: Orlimar Trimetal 9deg Driver

History: I wasn't able to hit a fairway wood until I bought an Adams Tight Lies. It was the Adams club that sold me on the low center of gravity clubs. I bought the Orlimar Trimetal 11deg fairway wood because it was advertised as also having a low center of gravity. I thought it was nice because I could hit it off of the tee and also off fairway. When I used it off of the tee I was popping it up about 1/4 of the time. When I used it off of the fairway I found myself slicing it, something I never experience that with the Adams club. I always hit the Adams straight and about 210 yards off of the fairway. In defense if the Orlimar, when I did get ahold of it, it went about 240 yards off of the fairway and my longest drive I measured out to be 305 yards. Now the Orlimar Driver: I was looking at the Adams driver and the Orlimar driver. I went to the Lakewood Golf course in Long Beach Ca. beause you can try out clubs at the driving range. A very nice feature. I hit the Adams straight and also the Orlimar went straight. I new I was longer with the Orlimar product so I went with it. I was still a little skeptical about the Orlimar because of all my slicing with the 11deg shallow face fairway wood. I have played three rounds with the Orlimar 9deg Trimetal and I have been to the driving range 2 times. I AM IMPRESSED. I now have a driver that i have confidence with. That is so very important in this game. I can hit it 280 with a nice smooth swing and 310 or so with a good whack. I'm back to winning the longest drive contests at local club events. NICE JOB GUYS. With the deeper face I haven't popped it up yet. (fingers crossed)

Finally someone has made an excellent left handed driver. For last twelve months I used the 11 degree trimetal fairway wood off the tee and this was unbelieveable. I just put the driver in my bag. I never thought I could draw a ball or even hit one straight. Try one you will not believe

Feels a lot like the fairway woods — ball comes off the face hot. Even with the 7.5 degree the ball flight was extremely high and long. I liked the strong flex stock shaft, though I felt the club might be a little long at 45 inches. Control suffered when I tried to step on it but overall it was a very good stick with more of a traditional feel than the big Ti drivers.

It's a very nice driver. I also have all the other TriMetal Woods. I don't know if it applies to anyone else but for me you gotta know how to hit a wood well to get the full effect.

I just picked up this club and played the Nicklaus course at PGA West. It is an awesome club. I actually hit this off the tee as well as the fairway. Straight and far. This gives me control and confidence. When I miss, I tended to slice but not out of bounds. I would highly recommend this club.

Really a sweet club. I use it off of the tee alot. I don't have to worry about hitting off center. It just seems to find the fairway. Thanks Mr. Ortiz HA!

tough club to hit off the tee. find myself hitting it sky high a lot even from a relatively low tee placement. never used it off the fairway, 9 degrees seemed too much to hit from the fairway.
