WOW !! Another great driver from Orlimar - still love their Hipti series who's 340cc & 420cc drivers are still No.1 even today for playability & distance.
The HTi 440cc is just the same but lighter and longer! Its light throughout the swing and thereby gives one confidence ... yet it still easily manages to deliver the long ball time & again! Its amazing how good Orlimar clubs are & yet so little used.I recommend you at least try this club for a few rounds & see how your confidence builds & distance increases!

I have to say this driver is sweet. Long and easy to hit. My swing speed is 88 to 90 mph, using a stock Orlimar shaft, regular flex, low torque, 65g weight.
This club can be bought at a very reasonable price (check ebay). If hit pure, you can expect 275 to 290 yds.(with roll)with 85% to 90% swing effort. You can't go wrong here. Try it you'll like it.

Picked up at auction for a song. Club has Grafalloy NT Comp stiff shaft. This driver just suits my game like no other. Swing speed on average is 98-100 last time I was clocked. Little effort lets me work the ball right or left, or easy swing just shoots it straight as a laser. Ideal trajectory from 10.5* loft. I'm sure the shaft has a lot to do with this clubs performance, but I've used upgraded shafts in Cobra, Callaway, and Nike. No monumental claims, but about a 10 yd. increase over my previous longest driver (Sasquatch) and estimate 30% increase in fairways hit. Off-center hits hold the line with expected loss of distance get about 240 yds, center hits soar and roll to 275-280. Managed to crack 300 a couple of times which I haven't done in the last 5 years. Feeling is exceptional, I know when its pured or if its off. The sound, although not that important to me, is terrific, noticeable but not ear-piercing like some others. I don't believe I can find a better driver at any price. Nice job, Orlimar.

Good clubhead, bad stock shaft. Shaft feels dead and unresponsive. Everyone i lend the club to commented on how dead the shaft feels. When I get the timing right and get the shaft flexing at the right time, the ball does come off the facee hot with a very good trajectory.

Recommend you try before you buy.

Model Reviewed: Orlimar HTi440 Driver 8* Stiff

I was originally using an Orlimar Tri-Metal 9* driver fitted with a Grafalloy Pro Launch 65 shaft. Unfortunately, a dent formed underneath the hosel and I needed a replacement. I was driving about 250-260 yds and hitting the fairways frequently, so I figured I'd try another Orlimar and picked up the HTi440. Took it to the range and it was just terrible for me. The club is 45.5" long, compared to the 44" I was used to, so I didn't feel comfortable with it at all. Ended up swapping out the shaft with the Grafalloy from my old driver and everything was great. Even with the half a degree less loft, I was able to hit about 10-15 yards farther then the Tri-Metal.

To sum it all up, great club head, so-so shaft.

I have hit many "new" driver at the range and have not been blown away by any of them. This driver is a great addition to any players bag. it sets up straight making it easy to work both directions. right now you can get them on ebay for 35 plus shipping refurbed and i dont know if there is any other deal on a golf club that could rival this one. i carried it 250 in cold rainy upstate ny weather and consistetly (neighbor buffalo had 2 ft of snow yesterday) just so you know the conditions i took it out in. anyway, buy this!!!! u wont disappoint yourself and its cheap enough that it doesnt matter if you did.

Guys: 300 yard greens are CARRYABLE with this club. I've tried many others: R7 tour, 905T, Ping G5 (nice), Mizuno, Cleveland, etc...This driver has the longest carry of any new club out there. It's INSANELY long. I was consistantly getting outdriven by guys in my group by 15 yds even when I hit my Mizuno on the screws. I finally had enough of this and bought a used one for $99.00. My carry has increased 25yds. The longest bombers in my group are all playing this head, (3hcp->10hcp) and many are driving greens! Get the older 440cc version, 9.5* or 10.5* loft. This club is so undervalued, its sick. If the stock shaft is not kosh with you, swap with Grafalloy Blue or similar. You won't regret it...check the used club section.

I stick with my first response on this club. It's amazing. I have hit some of the longest drives in my life. It's a good looking club and is forgiving. I did have one problem. The shaft broke on me. This is not because of hitting the ground over and over. I went to the driving range often and played about 10 rounds of golf. I would buy this club again, but now am Little more leary. When I brought the club back I did find that another HTI 440 Driver had the same problem.

Customer Service

I had a response within 2 days. I wanted to get a feel for how fast they would get back to me. They did say that within the first year they would replace or fix the club. From then on, I have not had to deal with them as I gave the club back to the store I bought it from. I have yet to hear back and it's been about 3 weeks, so we shall see where it goes from here.
