Model Reviewed: HipTi 8.5 and 9.5 stiff

Got the 8.5 first but it had a rattle inside prob from loose epoxy. Just killed this driver. I am a high ball hitter and the 8.5 was just about perfect. The only prob with it was the stiff shaft may have been just a bit stiff for me, cause I hit it with a very slight fade (10-15yrds of line at about 240-260 yrds) A firm flex would have been the ticket. Orlimar dist. in Canada was going to make up a slightly weeker 8.5 driver by tipping a reg flex one. The norm reg shaft was way too weak and I hooked it instead of my norm straight/draw ball flight. Unfortunely it came also with a epoxy rattle inside. I just got fed up after about 3 weeks of this so I took the 9.5 stiff from the store and gave it a try. Well I loved the 8.5 but really hated the 9.5. The 9.5 has a shallower face and it launched the ball real high for me. I got the same fade as the 8.5 but lost about 20yrds due to the ball flight being real high. The 8.5 was one of the best drivers I have uese in the last few years. If you are looking into getting a new driver, do look at the HipTi's. Didnt try the the 10.5, its just way to big for my taste. The 8.5 at 300cc just looked right and felt great. The complete face seems to be the sweetspot. Very forgiving diver. Ended up returning all the HipTi's and got a Mizuno 300S instead.

Customer Service

Very good in that they tried to help, but just didnt have conf in that they could do the job right on the 3rd try. Again it was the Canadian distrib. not Orlimar. High rating for effort tho.

WooHoo! I have never been able to hit a driver straight in my life, and never more than 175 yards - until now. This thing is amazing! I drilled the back wall of the range over and over again! No matter how badly I hit it, the ball went straight and long! This driver looks great, sounds great, and is going to do wonders for my handicap! I hit Pinnacle Titanium Extreme Distance balls last round with it and nailed 2-3 tees at over 300 yards! I LOVE THIS DRIVER!

Customer Service

I sent some irons back to Orlimar a while back because the shaft epoxy failed - 2 heads blew clean off! They replaced the whole set at no charge and thanked me for using their clubs! They were great! I highly reccomend Orlimar!

Incredible club, extremely long and straight. Seriously do yourself a favor and at least try this club. When you do try this club try a couple of on purpose mishits. I was impressed with distance I got on those dredded "worm burner" shots. It just powers the ball straight down the fairway. 300+ yard drives are very doable with this club, in fact last round I played I hit six of them. Please take my advise, quit reading about how great this club is and go hit this awesome club. You'll see.

HOLY COW! Thank god the cold war is over or the russians would be the only ones to own the greatest driver ever. The sound of the first hit at the range made heads turn. This thing is amazing. 3 people asked where they could buy one after they tried mine.

This is absolutely the hottest driver I have ever hit. I struggle hitting the ball low. With a Penley Regular shaft I hit this Club so high it is unbelievable. I've never had so much carry!

I bought the Hip Ti w/proforce 65 and love it, the trajectory is just right and I hit a ton of fairways with this. Its also 10-20 yards longer then all other models I've hit and that is alot. I sell clubs for a living and this is by far the best driver out there.

Model Reviewed: Hippo Giant 8 degree

I was always using stiff shafts until I did my own experiments. I have tried many drivers and like most always went with stiff flex, but I knew there was something I could do to find the perfect match for my swing. Let me tell you this story. I walked into Edwin Watts golf store one day looking to buy some Pro V1 golf balls ( they putt so true ). I saw the Hippo Giant driver there and laughed at the size of the driver. The poster add read the largest sweet spot and USGA compliant. I thought I should have some fun and experiment. I tried the stiff shaft 8 degree with some success. I then said to myself this club is an experiment, so I added a two inch insert to make the shaft 47 inches long -- total length is 48.5 inches including club head.
I could not control this thing at that length. I removed one inch from the shaft length to 46 inches. The club total length is 47.5 inches now.
This is now the driver I have in my bag.
I use to swing so hard with a stiff shaft at 45 inches -- most standard drivers. I now swing with more speed control with this Hippo Giant. The new length ( with the one inch insert ) gives me a swing speed of 110 mph. I am not swinging harder; the speed is coming from the loading of the club head do to the weaker flex of the shaft. I hit the longest straightest drive of my life this past Friday at Hyannis on the second hole -- 330 yards. I know most of you will say BullSh--. I use to say that as well, but the stiff shaft ( stiff tip ) really limited my drives -- 280 at most. I am going to try a Hippo Giant 8 degree with a Regular shaft as is. I will then try to add a one inch insert. I did this all based on a story in Golf Digest on shaft flex, length, and diminishing returns. I love this game. Good luck with your experiments.
The Hippo Giant is no joke!

Model Reviewed: Hip TI - Orlimar - 9.5 X Flex

Initially, I received the wrong shaft via my order directly from the Orlimar Web Site. However, they were extremely helpful and sent me the shaft I ordered with no questions asked. This driver, especially with the factory "X" flex is outstanding. It is extremely long with a great ball flight and more importantly, ITS STRAIGHT! I really enjoy the feel and it has a traditional club head look vs. the funky Ping and Callaway. Get it!

Customer Service

If you buy one, use the Orlimar web site. They are outstanding and you can order any spec you want. Quick delivery also!
