Its ugly, it sounds horrible, it comes with the ugliest head covers I've ever seen but who cares when the results are sooooo good.
I was playing the titleist 983 and was happy but looking for a bit more forgiveness. I got tons more forgiveness and tons more distance too.
I was hitting the 983 about 275 on a good drive. I carry the nike about 280 290 with 0 roll. When the ground gets a bit more firm every drive will be over 3 bills! Whats more is I feel like I cant miss with this thing. Tons of confidences now with this club.
I cant recommend this club enough. My playing partners hate it!
This thing is a steal at 199 from TGW with a free fairway wood which, by the way, is just as long and forgiving.

I just got this club in March 09. I played my first 9 holes of the year last week. My first swing in 6 months was right down the pipe. I hit 6 of 7 fairways with this club, and the fairway I missed was just off. Ended up shooting a +3 39 my first half round of the year. I love this club so far. Even my not so great swings ended up pretty dang good. Distance was also good. I was hitting it about 240 to 250, but that was in 45 degree weather. I will have a better idea of how far this thing will go when it warms up. The only downside to this club is workability. I tried to hit some draws, but just kept hitting the same 5 degree fade over and over, but if that is as bad as it gets, I can live with that. I can't see myself changing drivers for a long time.

Traded a Callaway X 460 for this Monster of a club. One word to describe this driver Consistant. Compared to the X 460 this Nike Sumo has a solid feel. It really hammers the ball of the tee with minimum effort.

Customer Service

Purchased and traded at Golfsmith. They really are resourcefull and friendly.

I've never been a great player off the tee, especially with the driver. In fact, I actually my old driver out of my bag and was using hybrids off the tee to keep the ball in play. My wife and best friend convinced me to get fitted for a driver and give it one last shot. I got fitted with the Nike SQ2 5900 with an x-stiff diamana shaft. I ended up buying it on TGW.com since I got the driver and the 3 wood for $208 with shipping. Took it out for the first time yesterday and absolutely loved this driver. I bombed it over and over. I pushed it a little right, but will keep working on that. My second shot into the 319 yard 1st hole was actually backwards since I had overshot the green. Amazing. Had just as much luck with the 3 wood too.

Customer Service

Haven't used Nike, but TGW's service is great

This club is amazingly long and straight. It's not a cure for bad swings, but it won't penailize you too much for a hiccup in your swing

It certainly goes straight but I agree with the previous reviewer who said that you need to dial it down a degree. This thing really balloons when you hit it.
I ended up getting rid of this driver because the head flew off after about 15 rounds. The head landed, hit a rock and was dented. I had some trouble with both Nike and Golf Galaxy (the retailer where I purchased the driver) trying to convince them that I did not break the club myself. More on that below.

Customer Service

Just not happy with customer service at either Golf Galaxy or Nike. I understand that some people break clubs and then try to have it fixed under warranty, but I was made to feel like a criminal. Nike ended up sending me a refurbished club rather than a new one, and I traded it in on a Cleveland HiBore XLS (which I like better!) at another retailer.
Anyway, another retailer told me that Nike has questionable customer service and mentioned Ping, Callaway and Cleveland as having fantastic customer service. I doubt I'll buy another Nike product, and won't visit Golf Galaxy again. I did not expect them to take my side, but they could have at least been neutral in the warranty process.

Most of the major brands. Frankly, I lucked into the HiBore XLS and plan to keep it for a long time.

Serious piece of equipment we are talking about right here. I am a Driver Junkie I pretty much have tried most of the new drivers out there for the past 5 years and own like 6. I just got this one and did shot comparison with other drivers (Burner, Hibore XL, Hibore XLS, Sasquatch 460) they are all really good, but there is something about the Sumo 5900 that makes want to destroy the golf ball. If you pure it which is not that hard to do this baby will launch straight and really long every time. Its massive head and ball marker at the top will really help your confidence. This baby does it all (high, low bend right and left) but mostly straight. The only thing I could see room for improvement it’s the sound not as loud as its version 1.0 but its still really loud similar to the Hibore XL. I really love it when you blast it, it is sure to intimidate your playing partner and people close by (loud straight and long)

best drive I have ever had. Can hit this strait, draw or cut..loft is off on this club, go 1 lower than you think. I started with a 9.50 stiff aldilia & ended up with 8.50 stiff with the proforce shaft.

I play a Tilteist 905R most of the time but there are periods when I need something teally "Safe" and this is the club. It is not as loud as one might imagine- much quieter than the 5600 the generation before and it is not as long as one might imagine when looking at that massive square head but it is almost impossible to slice with it.The other review spoke of ballooning slices and to be honest I don't know how he managed to slice with this club- quite a talent. Basically when playing narrow fairways or having slice troubles this is the one!

I love the driver. I never hit one so straight and long ever. But I would say the best thing to do is go out and demo one with different shafts and lofts to see what is right for you. Bought it brand new off of Ebay for $189.00
