Model Reviewed: SQ 9.5 Degree Stiff flex

I bought this club brand new when I upgraded my clubs. Decided to go with the stiff flex because of my high swing speed. I can definitely tell the difference over my standard flex club. Less forgiving and very hard, but longer distance. It feels like your hitting with actual wood on the stiff shaft, but others with the standard say its softer. Since I went with the 9.5, not alot of loft on the ball, but definitely a laser. Improved my drive by about 30 yards, give or take. The shots are hard to shape with it, but that may be I'm still getting used to it being bigger (460 vs 425) and harder (S vs R) than my last driver. All said and done, recommend THIS setup (9.5 and S) for someone whose got a very high swing speed and doesn't mind a harsh hit, but wants distance above all else. Do not recommend for lower swing speeds and shot-shaping

I am a relatively new golfer, and the one shot that I have been struggling to master is the drive. I have tried the x460, the R7 460 and the new Cobra club. With all of them I have been able to hit it reasonably long, but have been horribly erratic with direction.
Tried out a number of drivers on the analyser, and this club stood out a mile. To be honest I probably lost about 15 - 20 yards of distance but this seems a small price to pay for my new found straightness! This club fills you with confidence, and the knowledge that is so forgiving allows you to relax a bit and swing without fear of the dreaded duff shot!
Also exceptionally good value compared to the competition.
Overall I have been very impressed

Model Reviewed: Nike SQ 10.5 Diamana Regular

Let me start off by saying that this must be one of the most easiest Drivers ever to hit!!!

I play off 7 and found previously that the best driver I had played before was the TM R580 (Fantastic club!!). Have tried all sorts of drivers since then, Ping G2, G5, Cobra 454 Comp(extremely long!), TM R5 N & D & TM 580XD. These clubs were in no way better than the TM 580.

That is until now!

1. Accuracy

This Nike SQ is too easy to hit. It is deadly straight. You can really swing hard at the ball and you can be assured the ball will be on the fairway.
At the very worst I would fade it about 15yrds. However, I do find it difficult to shape the ball off the tee, unlike the previous drivers!! They just go straight, straight, straight!!!

2. Looks/Appearance

If you can get over its looks (which I do not mind anyway) I think you will enjoy staying on the short stuff!

3. Length

I would say I am 5-10 yrds shorter with this club than perhaps with the Ping G5, TM 580 & Cobra. However, it is Autumn time here in Ireland and there is no run on the fairways. I obtain a launch angle of between 12-13 degrees, which is a low to average ball flight(launch angle is not to be confused with the loft of the club!) and I think I will really see the benefit of this driver April through September.

Summary:

Pros: Straightest thing I have ever hit, I would recommend this club to mid-high Handicappers any day. I cannot emphasise how effortless it is to keep the ball on the fairway using this driver!

Cons: Finding it hard to shape the ball & not massively long.

Bottom line, I have not seen a massive amount of improvement in Drivers since the launch of the Big headed drivers, hence I loved my TM 580, since that perhaps got 5 yrds more but sacrificed accuracy. I can now say that this club is the most forgiving driver I know and has had a big impact on my performances, a up-grade in technology at last!

Big thumbs up, 5 stars!

I have this club a week and I love it! I has a Skymax before and I though it was just me, I though I couldn't hit drivers fullstop, but I was wrong. I played the second hole in my local course the other day. It's a short hole, 270M. I almost drove the entire hole, I was gob-smacked at how far this things goes, and it likes to go straight too! One more thing... wow!!

Let me just start off by saysing Im appalled by the lies off almost everyone driving the ball 300 yard+ drives. The national average is about 200 so please be honest. Ill start with my hones review I reshafted this thing with a Grafalloy 85x comp nt , and got a good boring rising but flat trajectory. I was crushing it 350 yards like most of us here.

I bought this club in the spring after previously using a Dunlop superlong, hotmelt technology, 10 degree driver. I demoed the Nike Ignite, Tayormade R5 and Ping G5, and they all hit around the same distance, but the SQ hit it way straigter. Plus since the price was $100 cheaper than some I decided to get it. All I can say is "wow." The best launce conditions came with the 10.5 degree driver since my swing speed is around 100 miles per hour. All I can say is "wow." Compared to the Dunlop it hits it at least 30 yards further, with a nice boring trajectory, if I tee it up high I get a nice high shot. If I tee it low I can get a lower shot with a lot of roll. On my next round after a short practice section I hit the fairway 4 out of the 6 times I used it with the two misses no more than 5 yards wide. My long drive was a 290 blast uphill. I even hit one way out on the toe and only lost around 10 yards. This club is amazing with awesome distance and great forgiveness. Great for high and low handicappers.

I bough this baby last week and yesterday I played the best round of golf ever...I tried about 10 different makes in the simulator at the local show, but the Nike SQ really stood out. I can slow down my swing and still hit the ball further than with my old driver. Every shot is dead straight and lands exactly where I want it to. I am so impressed that I just ordered the Nike SQ Fairway #5 19 degrees to replace my old one...I am now back playing around handicap 15 after having a 10 year break from golf. I could ses on the club that I hit the sweetspot every time.

really like this club. my drives are great when my game is on. on a normal day i can go out to my home course and hit 13 out of 14 fairways and average 280yds (measured by SkyCaddie). the head on this is hot, but the shaft isn't. don't let the Diamana name on it fool you, it isn't a "real" Diamana. then stock shaft is too light and too much torque, on days when my driver is off i hit a weak slice that will go 250-260yds. and 50+yds. off my target line. i plan on reshafting with a Diamana 83 or Diamana 93 to get more consistancy. if you're looking to buy, check ebay, amazing deals.

Purchased this club earlier this Spring and I love it. This driver is a hammer, I can swing aggressively and still get consistent trajectory with a slight draw. I have the 10.5* with regular flex stock shaft.

The SQ replaced a Ping TsiTech with regular flex shaft. My old Ping driver used to ballon on me if I tried to swing a little harder, not so with the Nike.

Distance is comparible to the Ping but the Nike is much more forgiving and is straighter with lower trajectory.

I tried out the Nike SQ today and was not impressed. I used the regular model 9.5* with a stiff shaft. I tried it on the simulator at the golf store and it felt and sounded good when I made contact. I took it to the range later that day (still had protective tape on the face) and was not impressed. The club launches the ball high in the air and gave me little roll. I also found it unforgiving with off center hits. The off center hits consistently produced nasty slices or hooks.

I will take this driver back to the store for a full refund. I'll stick with my TaylorMade TI Bubble 2 driver. Its a much easier club to work with, I cant hit it father, and more forgiving with off center hits.
