This club is just as good as clubs from the other major OEMs. For 99% of the people who write in these columns, they really have no clue how to rate a club because their swings change from day to day. Until you have a + index, you realistically cannot detect substantial differences in clubs from the major OEM manufacturers. The most important thing is to make sure that you have confidence in the clubs you are using, and that you have the right flex. Most people play with shafts that are too stiff, but that is another story. So, to sum it up, Nike manufactures a high quality piece of equipment. Just don't buy into the hype that it will allow you to drive like Tiger. And remember, a smart golfer will only use his/her driver 4-6 times per round. So save your money, and invest in a good putter.

After test driving this driver, I decided to buy it. I must admit this driver is very nice, and you can see gains from 20 to 50 yards. Its very light due to its graphite shaft, but the regular kick tends to feel funny due to its flex. I would say its not worth $400, but if you can get it for cheaper, go for it!

This is a great clubhead and has a very nice feel, this is the first forged club I've used. The stock shaft, even though made by Fujikura, is a piece of CRAP!!! There is only one trajectory--low (I even had my local pros hitting it, no one could hit anything other than a "stinger"), but in fairness, this is how it is advertised. This probably cost me at least 20-30 yds. on average due to the soft fairways at my local course. I quickly replaced it with a Fujikura Vista Pro 80 stiff, and now I love it. You can hit any trajectory you like and it has a more solid feel. I find it appalling, that you spend $400-500 on a driver to get a flimsy shaft, only to spend another $100 to replace it.

Customer Service

Good-I actually ordered this driver with the Vista Pro 80 from the PGA Merchandise Show (which was on a $30 option from the factory) but after 3 months, they were very honest in telling me I would be

I must first say, to those who can't really swing a golf club, don't knock this club! If you are losing distance, it's most likely b/c of the true tip-stiffed shaft made by Fujikura (best OEM shaft on the market). All the other stock shafts are mainly designed for "amateurs" which does not have a stiff tip. This softer tip allows a golfer to achieve more distance with less control. It's very simple, this club has the max. C.O.R. and great launch angle, once you combine that with the CORRECT shaft for your swing, it will give you maximum distance. There are many good drivers out there, just pick one you like the best, and get the right shaft! I do love these clubs for their set-up, muted sound, feel, and playability. That's b/c I have pretty good clubhead speed. If you're a slow-medium swinger, should consider a bigger head (the 350 or 400cc)or softer shaft. Moreover, I like the smaller headed drivers and blades. I'm not consumed with "scoring" but more concerned with becoming a better golfer. The clubs that I play with are relatively hard to hit compared to others on the market, but it gives me the feedback that I want to become a really good golfer. Good Luck

Model Reviewed: Nike Forged Driver 9.5 XStiff

I demoed the Nike and the 975J Titleist drivers at the same time in a round of golf. After hitting two balls off of each tee for the first nine holes I decided to place the Titleist Driver back in the bag permanently. Even though the Titleist driver had better feel to it, the 975J driver was not as consistent off the tee as the Nike. Nike driver felt good off the tee and was much more forgiving and more consistant. Since I used the XStiff shaft, I drew the ball when I had to. The distance off the was about 280-290 yards which is about 10-15 yards farther than my old Calleway Great Big Bertha. Granted I used the Strata Ult Tour 2 balls. Very happy with the purchase o f the driver. It looks good and hits good. What a combo. Highly reccommend it.

This is absolutely a great looking club, but it doesn't perform like its look. Distance is ok, but no farther than any other club. I like the trajectory but I really don't like the sound, and you get no feel from the club. Great shaft though.

Without any hesitation I would say this has got to be the worst driver I have hit in more than 15 years. It feels like a plastic wiffle ball bat at impact. The only thing this driver has going for it is reasonably attractive cosmetic looks. Otherwise it is a complete washout. Now I see why you basically see the Nike display of drivers completely full and collecting dust, while the others are almost empty. This driver is overhyped and overpriced. You won't find it in the bag of very many good amateur players that's for sure.

I purchased the club about a month ago...I usually wait a little bit for reviews and stuff before spending any kind of large amount. But this has been by far the best purchase I have ever made..Could be my swing improved but I tell you this club is very long and FORGIVING!! I don't know how many times I thought on impact that I had a miss hit, but everytime right down the middle! It was almost fighting not to go into the rough. $400.00 is still a bit much, go on ebay, for some reason these are going pretty cheap there.. I heard of another driver and 3 wood coming out(can't wait for the 3).I honestly saved at least 15 strokes on my game! I usually shoot low 90's high 80's and had to rely soley on my second shot to get me close. But not to sound stupid but keeping it on the fairway is a lot easier to play than from the rough. And my approach shot is 8-10 on the money. My last two rounds have been in the 70's! Not to say you will do the same and believe me I still am learning, big time! I heard that there are two different shafts depending on the head. Supposely Nike uses Fujikura on the stiffer shafts and Adilha(spelled wrong) on the weaker shafts. Like the weight, you can feel the clubhead for the most part. Glad I didn't have the headcover heard it scratche the head. The club looks great too! Excellent club, recommend to anyone that wants to improve their score (not game,ha,ha)

Model Reviewed: Nike 350CC 8.0 Graff & Stock X-Stiff

Originally bought this with a stock stiff shaft and had it measured on a frequency meter. To my surprise it measured at a 7.4 which is right at an X+! Even though the shaft rated pretty stiff it still didn't feel stable through the hitting area so I reshafted it with a Graffaloy Prolite X. MUCH better performance. With the original shaft, I recieved pretty good results. With the new shaft, the performance was unbelievable. I think there has been a lot of negative critisism from a lot of golfers out there with regards to Nike gear and I honestly don't know why. This driver feels better (to me) than ANY driver I have tested. It reminds me of a cross between the old Taylor Made TI Bubb II and the 975D. Distance is first rate, and the Launch angle suits me perfectly. Forgiveness is above average, but slightly below some of the newer hugeheaded drivers. My previous driver was a Taylor Made 320 8.5 w/ a Graphite Design TX shaft. I performed a comparison test utilizing the GOLF ACHEIVER on ball speed/launch/spin rate and here were my results. TAYLOR MADE 320 8.5 [BALL SPEED 161 MPH] [LAUNCH 14.1 degrees] [SPIN 3876 RPM] [AVG CARRY 253 YDS] NIKE 350 8.0 [BALL SPEED 163 MPH] [LAUNCH 12.3 DEGREES] [AVG CARRY 264 YDS] These results were acheived using 10 swings with the same tee height and balls (PROVI*). For the record, avg Clubhead speed is 121 MPH. While the ACHIEVER tests indicate only carry, I'd say I have gained 15 yds. I think the previous posters that said they lose yardage did not get try a club that fits their swing. I would recommend this club to anyone but you must try different lofts/shafts/flexes before you make your desicion.
