I started playing 2 years ago and was recommended this nicklaus driver by the American golf staff. But obviously I chose the bigger name and got a Taylormade burner :p the burner was good and consistantly hit 240 ish yards, but with a heck of a fade.
I then saw the Taylormade R11, had a go on the range at American golf, had it tuned and purchased it. This is a great club and it looks fantastic, but it does have the tendency to be wayward (about 3 in 10).
I was talking to a friend about the r11 and he said he plays with the nicklaus driver and let me use it on a round and I was astonished about how accurate it is! 100% fairways hit for the first time ever, not quite as long as the r11 but so much more accurate, a reliable 250 yard fairway club.
I liked it so much I sold my r11 and burner for £200 and bought the nicklaus for £50 on the internet. And the best thing is I have lowered my average strokes by around 12 strokes a round. Fantastic club. Good sound too :p

I just got the Dual Point 10.5 after using a friends. What a driver I played with it at the weekend and my drives have gone up around 20 yards. If you hit it smoothly the ball flies long and striaght, for me at around 270-275. You name it and I have had it, I'm forever buying new clubs at the moment I have a Ping G5 - Taylor Made R7 - Nike Sumo - Cleveland Launcher, all are good drivers when you hit them well but I'm only hitting them 260 yards on a good day. With the Dual Point every drive is long and on the short stuff with no effort. I only paid £120. I had my best round ever after one round with this driver because my second shorts were short irons into the green. I never write reviews but I felt I had to this time, at the weekend after my round my playing partners wanted to know why I was playing so well, I let them hit my driver all off them hit their best drives of the day. On the day Callaway had their golf club road show, I tried all their drivers and none matched uup to my Dual Point, Jack was the greatest player, in my opinion he makes the greatest driver. Go and try it, why spend £250-300 when you can get a piece of kit to hit it further for less than half the price.

I bought my driver from American Golf in Sudbury, the staff were great. In fact the manager said if I didn't hit the driver the best I ever had he would take it back and give me my money back, sorry to say his not getting it back.

Tested the dual, increased my drive 15 yds and took away my slice saves me about half a mile( maybe more) walk every time i play golf. Worth the money, if you dont believe it go to American golf and test it out. As the man said "Greens and fairways now Not the rough and tuff". Happy golfing

Also was skeptical since I hadn´t heard about the Nicklaus products before. Went to a specialized pro shop and was told that 90% of the driver is the shaft. We tried the stability and flexibility of different shafts that come with stock drivers. All were stiff which is what I play. And then tried a non-stock shaft regular and to my surprise the regular was more stiff than the stock stiffs. And was also more stable. He said that the difference is that stock shafts are mass produced in China for example. And a custom shaft is not produced in mass, has a higher quality standard and are made mainly in Japan. So I asked the pro guy what should I do. He recommended to put a Nicklaus head on a custom shaft. When I asked why Nicklaus, the reason was more financial. For $300 Nicklaus offered the choice in shafts. If I bough something else, I would have to buyt the whole club plus a custom shatf. I asked about Nicklaus which was not a brand I was aware of. He said that they are all mostly the same. There are some differences, but in general they are the same. It is mostly a matter of what you feel comfirtable with. In my case, I liked the shape, design, and overall feel. So what the heck... I bought it with a YS regular shaft. To my surprise I am hitting it long and straight... time after time. Had some trouble trying to fade it, but came to the realization that I just have to hit it straight. Why try to work it if I can put the ball where I want? Love the club!!! And saved some bucks.

Another intersting fact on heads. We wieghed heads made out of titanium, old steel and wood... all weigh the same. The difference that you feel has to do with the weight distribution of the head. This was interesting to me.

I was looking to get a new driver as the shaft on my Srixon was just a bit too stiff for my liking and I was lacking in cionsistency off the tee. I testet the Nicklaus alongside a Ping G10 and one of the new Nike Squash thingies!. All with stiff shafts. They all performed admirably in the distance. Hitting 280 yds with range balls so pretty happy.

After quite a few shots, I felt that the Nicklaus offered the best feel and reliability in distance and direction. In the UK the Nicklaus is £50 less than the other 2 and I really felt that I couldn't hit either the ping or Nike £50 further or better so I now have the Nicklaus as my new driver. I will post a proper course review hopefully soon.

Compared the Dual Point to the new TM Burner, Nike Square, Ping Rapture, and Adams BUL5000.
All were similar in distance and forgiveness though I preferred the Nicklaus. Sound was muted, feel was very solid, used price was great . Distance was as good or better than all that I tested. I expected the high MOI advertised drivers to be more forgiving but I did not find this to be the case. For me the Dual Point was as forgiving as any of the others.

Demo'd the Dual Point today...WOW!!! After hitting multiple Titleists, Pings, Cobras, Clevelands, Nike's, Callaways, Taylor Mades, etc...they kind of all performed similarly. All good when fitted properly, but none head and shoulders better or worse than any others.

This Nicklaus driver stood out!! For some reason, my swing speed was 5 mph faster with this club, launch angle was consistent, sound was a nice muted sound. Not the horrible sound of that square Nike thing! How much of this improved performance is shaft-related? Probably a lot. This driver had a Mitsubishi designed shaft in it. Kick points, weight, feel--all seemed to fit my particular swing.

LONG...consistently 15 yards longer than anything else; even the freak long hits with others!

Looks great, sounds great, and a great value by today's standards. Give it a try...you might just like it!!

I've hit 'em all...

I decided to make a driver change in '07.
I have a fade with my driver and my 5 wood. Drivers: I tried Taylormade R7, Nike Sumo2, Cleveland Hibore, Cobra m speed... then I was talked into trying a Nicklaus Duel Point 12 degree OS. All of these drivers did better things however, the Nicklaus took away my fade, gave 20 yards, and has a great sound.

I stayed with my Cobra 18 degree m speed
OS fairway wood. Nicklaus driver and Cobra Woods = Great Length, Very Straight and NO GONG SOUNDS !!!
