Mizuno MX 560 Drivers

Mizuno MX 560 Drivers

DESCRIPTION

If you were waiting for this new driver to hit your local store, you may be wasting your time. I purchased the 12 degree with regular flex DS3 shaft. Tried 12 degree because I had just been trying a Titleist D1 11.5 degree. This driver is a real disappointment, and I really wanted to like it. The styling of the head is cool, the closed face is not. Only the 9.5 sits square, but that is only the tip of the iceberg. I have never liked real loud drivers, Callaway X-460, Macgregors, and some others; even if they hit well the noise was too much to overlook. This MX 560 takes loud to a whole new level, my right ear was ringing when I left the driving range, hitting about 15-20 balls with this thing. The guy next to me actually groaned when I hit it, and I don't blame him, it is that loud. Not a good loud or powerful loud, just a loud loud bang or something. So I hear this explosion and look down the range expecting my ball to be barely visible, but I watch as it floats down a good 10-15 yards short of the Titleist. It was a 12 degree driver, but it barely flew pass my 3 wood, and I don't bomb it that long. Try this driver if you must, but do yourself a favor, install earplugs and bring extras for your playing partners or fellow range rats.

I used a Mizuno MP-001 driver a few years back. Awesome club but needed something a bit more forgiving. Played a G5 mostly since which is very dependable and forgiving but wanted a little more distance. Have experimented with several drivers (Burner TP, Cobra, and a few others). Decided to go back to Mizuno and based on reviews here decided to try the MX-560.

Could not be happier. This thing is awesome! Very forgiving -- can't believe the swings that still end up in the fairway -- and at least 15-20 yards longer than my old G5. My search is over. This is a keeper!!

I purchased a Mizuno MX 560 10.5 with a prolite red regular shaft on a mizuno demo day. I was very happy with this club it always hit the fairway! However the face was slightly closed which meant that I could not easily draw the ball. I traded it and tested a few other brands and it was down to the Nike 10.5 5000 sumo stiff mitsubishi and the Mizuno MX 560 9.5 stiff fujikura 150. The nike 10.5 had a lower ball flight than the 9.5 560 . The Nike shaft really banged in to the ball encouraging me to swing hard. The mizuno i could swing more controlled and softer for the same distance. I chose the mixuno it the end because it was more forgiving than the Nike on my bad shots although it was close. The Mizunos squarer face gives me back control.

I recently bought a Mizuno MX560 9.5 with the Fujikura E-150 S-flex shaft. This is a nice club overall, but I would recommend against getting the E-150 shaft. It's just too whippy even with the S-flex. Normal speed swings are OK (my average SS is 95 mph), but as soon as you try to go after the ball a little harder, the shaft can't seem to keep up. Do yourself a favor and don't get the E-150 shaft with this driver.

10.5 degree with a regular Fujikura 150 shaft. I bought this driver to replace my ageing Titleist 905T, 9.5 degree stiff Aldila NV 65 shaft. I have used it at the range and on the course both times I was able to compare with my 905T. I have a swing speed of 90 – 95mph. Both balls used were Titleist NXT’s. This club inspires confidence, its very light, looking down at address the head is big but don’t look unwieldy, it makes you feel you can’t miss. The weather was calm when I was on the course. I was striking the ball consistently with both clubs and the difference in distance was negligible, the ball obviously flew a lot higher with the mizuno, this was a little disappointing as I expected more distance, however what did become apparent to me was no matter how I hit the ball with the mizuno it was always on the fairway, this is a very forgiving club so for that reason alone I will be keeping this club. Low handicap players who like to work the ball with the driver may be disappointed as this baby just wants to fly straight.

Having been forced to replace my non-conforming TaylorMade R540 10.5 regular driver, I tried a number of drivers before settling on the Mizuno MX-560 9.5 stiff.

Interestingly, I can out-drive the old R540 even though the face of the Mizuno has a lower COR - perhaps this is due to my improving swing, stiffer shaft and lower loft. Nice large face helps with confidence on the first tee.

In an enclosed driving-range bay, it sounds a bit twonky but out on the course, it sounds fine.

So far, I'm delighted with this new driver - it's a keeper.

I DEMOED JUST ABOUT EVERY 07, 08 DRIVER BY THE THE MAJOR BRANDS IN THE LAST 4 MONTHS. AFTER INTIALLY BUYING AN FT-5 DRAW (SHAFT WAS TOO STIFF ME) I TRADED IT IN ON THE NEW MX560 WITH A REGULAR ALDILA NV SHAFT. MY SWING SPEED IS 90-94. THIS CLUB IS AWESOME! VERY, VERY FORGIVING MORE SO THAN THE FT-5. AND IT'S LONG! ME BE A HIGH HANDICAPPER I NOTICED MY BALL CLUSTERS ARE CLOSER TOGETHER AND FINDING MORE FAIRWAYS. MY BACKSPIN RPM IS ABOUT 700 LESS THAN THE FT-5. AND ID ACTUALLY NOT HAS LOUD HAS THE FT-5, HIBORE, OR NIKE. IT DOESN'T FELL LIKE AN OVERGROWN FEATHER ON THE END OF A STICK LIKE THE BURNER AND HIBORE DID. STOCK SHAFT IS WHIPPY STRONGLY RECOMMEND ORDERING WITH ALDILA SHAFT!

This Driver came out late last year. It has a very hot face, which substantially adds to distance. I upgraded from Mizuno 500. This new face also results in a very loud sound and a harder feel but the extra distance is worth it. Standard shaft is OK but a new UST V2 shaft makes it one of the best I played and I have played them all.(Confessions of a Golf Equipment Junkie).
