This driver has greatly improved my accuracy off the tee especially with a smooth steady swing. With my old driver i used to have to really go at it to get the 280 i normally get but this just flies off the face with a relaxed swing getting the same distance and further with 9/10 times being on the fairway. The club looks great ebhinmd the ball and juct oozes cofidence especially when you are off song. Definately a good buy if its going cheap and a reasonable driver at full price, the only problem i have is with the grip because it rips my gloves to shreds!!!! Customer Service N/A |

Ran across this guy on Ebay with an Aldila NV75 stiff flex shaft and thought I would bid on it since nobody else did and it turned out I was the only bidder so I got it for a song. I then checked the reviews on it and read that it was louder than other drivers and thought well how loud can this thing be? I tee'd it up and gave it a wack and realized imediately that the reviews were very accurate. No doubt the loudest driver I've hit. The next thing I noticed was that it was longer than I expected. I have a GGBII which feels too heavy for me and an Integra 450r that is very light. The Mac feels about in the middle. Although this review is off of one day at the range it feels pretty solid. Going to take it out on the course next time and see what happens Customer Service n/a Similar Products Used: GGBII Integra 450r Wilson Deep Red 425 |

A decent club for the money! It does make a loud sound when you hit the sweet spot but so do most thin wall titanium clubs. Although the company puts a lot of emphasis on the expanded sweet spot, I have found that not to be the case. However, when you do find the sweet spot this club will send the ball as far as any other. I like the appearance of this club at set up and also the feel of the club is better than most. The head cover is a nice touch to this club. I got this club on ebay for $69 plus shipping. Similar Products Used: Ping G2, Taylor Made R420, Snake Eyes 600T |

Did not want to spend over $100.00 on a oversized driver.I tested and liked this club and was able to buy one on ebay for $66.00.If you can put up with the loud twang of contact this club is a great deal.I'm now looking into a MacGregor 3wood to match my driver. |

Been playing golf coming to a year and about 3 months ago, was looking for a relatively inexpensive driver to experiment with as my swing was still too erratic then. Found this on ebay brand new for $99 and thought what the heck, its far cheaper than most clubs around and with MacG's reputation, how bad could it get? To cut the story short, three months later today, I would not trade this driver for any other in the market. The eye on the center really helps to align your shot and helps you to be more consistent with your swing. Just let her rip and watch that ball fly...I'm consistently carrying the ball 220-230m without roll!! one negative point is off-centre hits are not so forgiving compared to other drivers. Btw...I just LOVE the deafening CLANK!!! this driver makes.... Customer Service Never used them...so no comments... Similar Products Used: Ping G2, Nickent Genex425, Adams GT363 and GT410 |

I played half of last season with a new M42. First thing you notice when you hit this driver is it is loud. Some will try and tell you this is a good thing. It's not! It has got to be the ugliest sounding driver I've ever hit. The sound is very reminiscent of an aluminum baseball bat. As far as performance goes, I'd say it performed very averagely. The ball dosen't jump off the face peticularly hard and accuracy is fine, but not spectacular. I planned on using it for along time, but I really was looking for a premium driver, and this just dosen't make it into that class. I got a great deal on Ebay on a used Titleist 983E about a month ago, and couldn't be happier. I've hit Taylor Mades, Clevelands, Calloways, Cobras, and Titleists. All are in a class above the MacGregor. If you can get a good deal, you might consider giving it a shot, but I'm personally far, far happier with my used Titleist than I was with my brand new MacGregor. Just something you might want to think about before buying. |

MacGregor M42 10* Driver
I don't usually post to forums and review sites, but felt compelled to do so about this club. I have had an Orlimar HipTi 315cc driver for the past few years and actually hit it quite well. Like most golfers, I recently decided that I wanted something new, especially since now clubheads are much larger and supposedly more forgiving and longer. I tried both the MacGregor M42 10* with the Graphite Design YS-6.1 stiff shaft and the Orlimar HipTi 420cc 9.5* with an Aldila NV-55 stiff shaft. I can honestly say that I am very surprised at my preference. I consistently hit the M42 better than the Orlimar, finding it quite a bit more forgiving. Pushed (and even sliced) shots on less-than-optimal swings were not near as far off-line with the M42. Also, many more shots felt "sweet" with the M42 as off-center shots with the Orlimar actually felt off-center. I would say that distance on well-hit shots was about the same with each club, but the selling factor for me was the obvious advantage of having more drives in play with the M42 (who wouldn't prefer to hit his approach shot from a better lie?). I also like the "eye" on the clubface as this does seem to help me position the ball and clubface more consistently at address. The only negative about this club is what others have mentioned -- the sound. It is pretty loud, but can easily be gotten used to given the performance of the club. One of the best things about this club is the price -- I bought mine essentially unused (2 or 3 light face marks) on eBay for $82 shipped to my door -- can't beat that! It may not be as aggressively marketed as Taylor Made and others, but should be strongly considered by anyone looking for a new driver. |

Fist off let me say that if you have sensitive ears this club with bother the hell out of you. This son of a gun is LOUD! It really does sound like an aluminium baseball bat. I hit the thing at the range and had an audience in less than a minute. Its that crazy. Its crazy long, and so forgiving it should be illegal. If yjour having problems hitting it far, this is the club. I became a MacGregor beliver when i switched to theier forged blades and this delivers just the same. If they headsize id too big just think, tigers using a 460, so are a lot of other pros and amatuers and hacks alike so 420cc's is just fine. i picked it up on eBay for 170 shipped, so its cheap, too. Best driver i ever bought. Customer Service eBay, the best! Similar Products Used: Taylormade 360ti |
