would agree the looooooongest driver I have ever hit was concerned about the 8* loft but ball flight is awesome can u say BORING flight. penley shaft is also awesome did cut 1/2" off and weighted grip w/insert for a perfect D-4 swing weight. shaft holds true to flex actually it is a stiff + right between stiff and extra stiff. can work the ball some with this stick however mainly right down the pike which is fine by me. carry is good average between 260-275 depending on what kind of day I am having roll is really good right at another 15-25 yards.

Model Reviewed: Cobra 450 SZ Tour w/ Penley shaft

Probably the best driver I have had the opportunity to crush. The only loft it comes in is 8*. It is a neutral face but I draw it. I have the stock 46" Penley shaft and it is a monster. This is probably the loudest driver I have hit. When you flush it, the sound reverberates throughout the course !

The 450SZ is Cobra's 'long drive' driver and is used by the Cobra Long Drive Team (which includes Brian Pavlet and Jason Zuback). I currently own and use a 450SZ Tour 8* with a Harrison Pro 2.5 firm/stiff shaft, bought off eBay for about $250. I also have a Cobra 440SZ 9* with OEM GD X-stiff shaft, so I'm able to compare the two. Accuracy is about the same between the 440 and 450 - which means both are very forgiving, although the 450 has a slightly large sweet spot (41 cm2). Off-center hits still yield decent shots. When hit right, I can consistently hit 290-310 yards with practice balls. It still has the loud aluminum baseball bat-like report when hit squarely, so be warned if you don't like getting a lot of looks at the range or the course. In my opinion the shaft is the most important component in getting the longest drive possible. If you buy this driver make sure it's shafted with a shaft that matches the golfer's swing as much as possible. The Harrison shaft that came with mine is actually still too flexy for my swing (115-120mph), so I may switch it out for something like an AccuFlex or Penley ETA. Overall this is a beautiful driver that is loud, long, and forgiving. If you're interested in long drive competitions or just want to garner some attention on the course, this driver is for you.
