Won this club in silent auction two years ago. It sat in my garage for a year before I tried it. The first 5 rounds I was long and all over the place. Now after I've adjusted my tempo I have to say this is the best driver I've ever hit. I have incredible control and confidence with this driver. My ball takes off with a high yet hot trajectory giving me great distance. I picket up about 20 yards with this over my last favorite driver. Very forgiving yet workable. Very recommended.

Absolutely fantastic golf club. Stiff stock shaft (Fujikura Speeder) was perfect for me. Got 20 extra yards out of this club vs my old Taylormade Burner 420, and much more forgiveness.. Freaking amazing club!!!! LOVE IT!

what a great club. SO easy to hit, even if you catch it right out the toe it still goes miles. even with such a big head (460cc) i find it easy to hit it off the deck. very high launch, feels like it baloons into the wind but i only loose about 5 yards. great feel, head/shaft combo is perfect but if you hit a high ball then the speed pro D would be better.

IT WAS OK AT FIRST SOUNDED AND FELT MORE EXPLOSIVE OFF THE FACE THAN MY TAYLORMADE R7 425. THEN I FIGURED IT OUT IT GETS THE HEIGHT FROM THE IDEAL LAUNCH ANGLE TO GIVE YOU EXTRA YARDS. IT IS ABOUT 46 INCHES LONG IT WAS HARD TO ADJUST TO BECAUSE OF THE EXTRA LENGTH DEFFINITELY MORE ACCURATE DUE TO THE MOI OF 4900. BUT I WOULDN'T SPEND $400 FOR IT FROM DICK'S BUT IT IS AN OKAY DRIVER FOR UNDER SAY $150. IF YOU WANT A COBRA THIS DRIVER ADDED ABOUT 10 YARDS AND 2 MORE FAIRWAYS A ROUND.

Model Reviewed: Cobra Speed Pro D

First off let me say this is a review for a Speed Pro D. This is an entirely different club than a Speed Pro S. The D model has a much lower launch than the S model. I purchased a 10.5* Speed Pro D, Aldila VS Proto By You shaft in stiff flex last month. It took a while to adjust to the characteristics of the club. Even with a 10.5* loft it still launches lower than the 9* F Speed that I used previously. The surprising thing about this club is that I have to swing smoother ( and slower ) than with my 9* F Speed but I've gained a few yards and better accuracy, probably due to the increased loft. The clubhead is definitely heavier than the F Speed, measuring out at D5 with a total weight of 325 grams vs. the F Speed D1 and 300 grams. If you play courses that don't require a high launch off the tee this may be a good club for you. To me the prime selling point is workability vs. the F Speed model. I picked this club off in like new condition off Ebay for $129.

Excellent driver, this thing drops absolute bombs! Recently switched over from 905R this is the first Cobra driver I've ever played and am very impressed. Re-shafted with Diamana Blueboard 83s and set up at 44.5". Measures out to D3.5, 9.5* loft. Head/shaft combo is extremely long and consistent (after some slight tweaks). The only issue I had initially was the slightly closed face at address. It sets up almost square at address, but not 100%. Anyways, the factory face angle setup was causing a slight hook. I'm 5'11 and flattened the lie angle roughly 1* and opened the face about a degree as well. Probably now plays at 8.5* effective loft and 0-1* open. After loft/lie tweaks, this combo is the longest I've ever played. I picked up approx 10yds carry with much more rollout over 905R. Length aside, the control/consistency is the best part...it's hard to miss the fairway.

Model Reviewed: King Cobra Speeder Pro S Driver

This is the first driver I've purchased in the past 8 years, after finding out the original Cobra had, had the face pushed in and was dead. Great driver. Not hard to hit straight, or hit high fades and lower draws. The only thing negative was the ball flight, I think it's too high and balloons to much with the stock driver, but an awesome club right out of the box. The huge sweetpot is awesome and has a really good feel. The club head is really large, compared to other drivers I've used, but it's easy to swing and has good response.

Customer Service

I've Cobra before in the past and they have a great customer service department.

Loved my old Cobra 440 SZ on a regular shaft 10.5º, hit it high and long but often way off line and into trouble. When it became illegal I went to a Cobra demo day locally and was directed towards the X speed pro S with the Fujikura stiff flex shaft and 9.5º face angle as my swing speed was measured as 115 mph. I love it!!! Took a bit of time to get used to the new feel and shallow take off angle but boy oh boy do I hit it straighter! And long.....great driver.
