This driver is very long indeed, but the face is closed about two degrees. Anybody that plays a draw or a straight ball should stay clear of this driver. My gentle draw has turned into a snap hook.

Cobra 454 Comp w/Graphite Design YS 5.5 Stiff shaft
Hi All.... In golf circles, I am known as " Mr High Tech " and have had the latest and greatest in golf equipment thru the years ( A very accomplished golfer as well ).This Cobra 454 Comp is by far the best driver I have ever owned. I have had Titleist,Ping,Cleveland, and Callaway drivers but even with my senior years coming on, still manage to drive it with the youngsters ( 275 - 300+ ). I went to 6 " Demo Days " testing all the drivers on the market today while taking notes on the shafts (heart of the club) before I made my purchase. I even called Titleist Engineering and talked with them about the " comp heads ". These heads generate LESS SPIN on the ball over the ti heads, a very large sweet spot, and with this SUPERIOR shaft (Graphite Design ) you all can't go wrong with one of these drivers. There new HS-9 is the Big Brother to this driver and have been on the Titleist Monitor with both drivers. The Titleist Tech Rep proved to me that there new driver is 10 - 12 yards farther but costs 250.00 more....not yet but when that driver comes down in price, I will be purchasing one of those. Cobra has found a winner in there " Comp Drivers " for sure. Best of Luck to you all in this wonderous game of golf !! Customer Service talked with factory and very informative about the product. The is the second driver in my rotation. I have a TMr7 quad 10.5* w/ a 44" ust proforce v2 stiff flex for controll on corses that aren't too long. And my second driver wich happens to be my favorite club that i own. I bought a cobra comp 454 7.5* used for 180 bucks and reshafted it with a 46" proforce v2 x stifff. This baby is as long as you can see. With this set up 340-360 par 4's in one are no problem. Not too workable, and the 2 or 3* closed face allows you to swing away with recklace abandond and not worry about it. Similar Products Used: EVERYTHING OUT THERE IVE HIT EM ALL |

I've had my trials with some of the latest and greatest drivers out there. Simply put, I bought this bad boy and can't say enough about it. I gained 15 yards easily off the tee and hit it perfectly straight. Buy it and your buddies will envy you off the tee. Check out the price on TGW.com Customer Service No need. If you want longer straight shots off the tee, this is a great driver. I was on a mission in search of a driver that suits my game. I don't have a fast swing speed, nor the best ball striker. I wanted a new driver that gives me the maximum distance and forgiveness. I tried just about every big name 460cc drivers out there. And I mean I actually owned them and ended up trading it or selling them. I finally decided on this Cobra comp driver. Why? Because it gives me the most confidence and playability on the course. ON THE COURSE. Yes. Just like every weekend golfers, I hit them good on the range. But once I get on the course, I need a driver that can put the ball out there and keep them in play under pressure. This driver is truly longer and straighter. I have gained about 10-20 yards off the tee on good drives. Off center hits, it still keeps me in a good spot. By no means this is a miracle driver. But in my opinion, it offers what every weekend golfer is looking for. Give it a try. Similar Products Used: G2/G5 Cleveland Launcher 460/Comp Callaway 454 Nike Ignite Mizuno MP 001/ MX500 |

First, I really value this site (with a grain of salt) - obviously when you're going to spend the amount of money golf equipment costs these days, all the information you can get helps. Second, I do not work for any golf related service, I just enjoy playing golf, whenever I can get out - i.e. my drives do not go 300 yds on average. I've never written a review, but I recently purchased a driver and since I used this site, I figured I would put my 2 cents in. I usually play in the low 80's, swing speed is 100, length is not my strength - but I'm consistent (bogeys with pars thrown in). My shot shape is straight or slight fade, which becomes a fade or slice with a driver. I never really played driver since I couldn't control the slice - I hit 3 wood which gave me 230 consistently. Problem is I can't improve my handicap, and with the people I play, 230yd drives gives no room for error. So I've been looking for a driver for several years. I hit all the big name clubs - Cleveland 400, 460, 460 comp; TM 540, 580, r5D, r7; Callaway GBBII, BB454, fusion; even Cobra ss350, and sz460, etc. etc. etc. Never put myself on a monitor, but tried different kinds of shafts and hit a lot of balls. In general, the TMs were not as long as cleveland, cobra and callaway - but they are very consistent and have a low shot dispersion. The callaways are made to hit straight and high with no draw bias so I consistently sliced with them - it's also harder to find exotic shafts to get the ball down. It came down to cleveland and cobra with aldilla or mitsu shaft. I found with the cobra 454 I was more consistent and had less fade/slice (2 degree closed face probably helped) but I was longer than with TM. It doesn't have the loud ping sound that the larger titanium head clubs have, but you do get great feedback. I also got a great deal on it ($240; cleveland 460 was going to cost $200, so cost was not really the major issue, but I didn't want to spend 350 on a club). All the clubs I tried are great quality and are right for someone. I just found this club was better for me and whatever swing errors I have. Key thing is to try them and although I didn't get "fit" for the driver, it may have shortened my search. Hit 'em straight... and long. Customer Service haven't had to use, but the web site seems pretty nice. Similar Products Used: TM 540, 580, 540xd, 580xd, r5, r7 cleveland 400, 460, 460 comp callaway GBBII, BB454 many others |

I tested out many drivers before settling with this one. Including the Cobra 460. This driver is forgiving and when you hit it right, the ball flies. When i hit it right, which i guess is more of an accident right now, I can get the ball out to almost 300 yards. Sometimes i lose sight of it. It is a great driver and I would recomend it to anyone who is 15+ Hadicap. |
