HS9 Cobra
I am sitting reading reviews to replace my current R7 from 06. Frankly had to say something about the Cobra HS9. I bought one recently along with the club pro who is sponsored through Cobra. Horrible club, Cobra just missed on this one. I admit Cobra usually delivers on drivers. This blunder was an attempt at a new approach gone wrong. Had it for a week and broke the head. A small crack developed just at the base. Way too light in feel and it seemed to go dead after a short time of play. In regards to the crack, after I returned the club I ran into the club pro and happened to glance at his bag. No HS9? I asked, what happened? He states I have already cracked two of them and the club seemed to get shorter the longer I played with it. Stay away, Cobra drivers are great, but you can't always score a 5. Save the cash and look elsewhere. Customer Service Good, Cobra was always willing to replace any broken items. This is just simply poor design. Similar Products Used: TM R7 425, 414 comp Cobra |

Great club--picked up at country club to try as a demo and it has never been back to the pro-shop! I have read, over the years, about clubs adding significant yardage and never believed until I tried this driver. Regular swing, Cobra shaft, stock, stock, stock and it has added so much yardage to my game that I now can make all but the longest par 4s in regulation and have been on a couple of par fives in two. Very forgiving with toe hits and sneaky long when hit on the nails. Very easy to get back to point of impact. Literally the best driver I have ever used--by a large, large margin. I'm not sure what the "fast speed" is all about, my swing isn't but I have tried to increase over the summer with some success. I would suggest this wonderful club for anyone that likes a long, straight, and forgiving driver. Customer Service Never had a problem with a Cobra club and I have had plenty over the years. Cobra HS9 F Speed
Three months ago, I switched to a Cobra HS9 F speed driver. I was not in the market for a driver at the time, but happened to hit one at a demo day. I could not believe how straight and long it was. At the same demo, I tried the Nike SasQuatch and Titleist 905R. No comparison. In fact, I hit my old Taylormade 360 Ti better than those two.
Customer Service Didn't deal with them much. Though I wanted the Lampkin Dual Density Torsion grip, but that would have been another 3 weeks to wait (I am left handed, so not much is ever in stock).
Similar Products Used: Nike SasQuatch (hated it), Titleist 905R (okay), Taylormade R7 (okay), Cobra LD F speed (average) - but none compared to HS9 |
