If you have a moderate to fast swing speed and don't have much trouble getting the ball up in the air and are looking for forgiveness and distance while avoiding the right side, this club is as good as any other that I have tried, (look below). I hit this club 20 yards longer than the R5 which used to be my favorite driver. The ball comes off the face with higher velocity and less spin which produces a nice medium-level boring flight. Of course for those of you who are true players out there who love working the ball either way, there are better clubs out there. Overall, a solid driver that is inexpensive now.

Model Reviewed: Cobra 460 SZ 10.5 Stiff

Nothing against this club, because it really is great. But my swing speed is too fast. I found out today (which shows how much i know of clubs and shafts) that the Stiff shaft on my club is too light, and although stiff, is only rated for swing speeds of about 105-110. Now, had i known this before, i wouldn't have bought it, but being the impulse buyer I am, and facing a price tag under 200, I jumped on it. I was recently hitting an Adams GT2 (which was great, unless you factor in the crack it had on the bottom after about 20 rounds), and frustrated with being without a solid club, i moved into the Cobra ranks, taking advantage of something that looked good.

To say that i don't hit this club well would be a lie. But to say that i do it with the same swing i learned as a child would also be a lie. And that, unfortunately for me, is not a good thing. I got caught later on with a good club that had a shaft too whippy and too light for me. This leads to open face contact, and, believe it or not, a terrible banana ball. I had to change my swing to accomodate this, and have since been playing a power fade, which, more often than not, turns into a slice. When i try to draw it, I end up over doing it because of the draw biased closed face, and snap hook it. or just bomb it long & left.

Understand that this is not a review of a bad club, far from it. This is more a case of buying on impulse, and not double checking if it was the right club for me. So now, i'm stuck with a long club that i'm consistenly inconsistent with. It didn't help from the get go that my swing speed will occasionally top out at 120, 15 mph higher than this shaft is suited for. Head lags behind, i turn my hands over, and I'm still right. Oh well, don't credit this to Cobra. Credit it to me.

Great club if you have the swing speed match, and if you need draw bias.... But for your sake, please, Please get fitted. I'm going soon to get fitted for A Ping G5, a club that- I'm hoping- will fix the errors I've already made.

I've played this club for about a year. I went to a local demo day and compared it to the latest models from TM, Callaway and Nike. On that particular day it was the best club out there. Since then I have had good days and bad days. The stock Regular Aldila shaft is too flimsy for my swing. This ocassionaly causes slices or if I am set up incorrectly a snap hook. When I swing easy I do get a beautiful draw with it. Overall it was worth the $200 that I spent for it.

I've always had problems with my drives most of all accuracy. With this thing all you have to do is worry about a proper stance and grip then swing away. Anyone having problems keeping the ball in the fairway should atleast give it a try, since you can find it on ebay for cheap. And for Distance this is by far the longest driver I have hit even though I use a 10.5 degree. In short give it a try you won't be disappointed.

I've recently gotten back into golf since my baseball career ended. All of the guys i play with have cobra drivers and clubs so i tried them out first. But being fair i tried a lot of different clubs also... calloway's X, Nike sasquach, titleist 954, cleveland launcher, and Hibore. truth be told i liked the Hybore the best but can't afford it. of all the clubs i liked the cobra line the best. I got my dad set up on a new f speed, but since i couldn't afford one of the those i went with the year ofl SZ. i started with a 400 and went with every degree they make, and ended up with a great deal on a demoed once 460. I love this club. HIt straighter than others and feels great at address. Would highly recommend.

My parents bought me a complete box set of Dunlop clubs in 2000 for a high school graduation gift. These clubs served their purpose for six years, but I recently started taking lessons from a local professional. It became obvious that my clubs were drastically outdated and that they were not fitting my game.

A couple of days ago I had a fitting with the pro who has been teaching me and he brought with him a Cobra 460 sz and a new Cobra F speed. I hit the F Speed first and then the 460. I could not believe the distance and control I had with both of these clubs.

After the very first swing I was a believer. The 460 fit my budget a little better because it is from the previous generation of technology.

This driver is unbelievable and has made me a fanatic. My Pro also fit me for a set of Cobra 3100 irons and I will report on them when they are received.

If you want a new driver that will give you phenomenal distance and wicked straight drives, this is your driver.

I'm fairly new to the game and decided to purchase a new driver for myself. I'd been using a loaned NIKE 400cc 9 degree driver that I basically had no control and/or confidence with. I found this website and did some research. It seemed like the Cobra SZ with the Aldila shaft 9 degree may be for me...being that I need a lot of work off the tee. I found one on ebay I bought for $160 brand new. I've played three rounds with it and low and behold...I'm actually getting the results I've been looking for. I've had drives of 280+ (straight) mixed with an occasional fade and draw with good distance...but I'm still learning. If there is a club for the person new to the game and needs help, this club is the one. I also bought the SZ 3 wood through tgw.com.

My uncle won this driver in a tourney, and lucky for me, gave it to me. It's the best driver I've ever hit!!! I love it. I'm 15 years old and my driving average is about 280 yards. And i dont think i could have done it without the cobra.

You guys obviously know a great club when you see one! I had never hit this driver before, but based on the things I read in these reviews I bought the Cobra 460 sz. After one session at the range I can already predict shaving at least 2 shots off my handicap. This driver is long, but more importantly, it`s straight. I`ve never had the control this stick affords. If you`re in the market for a new driver, you can`t go wrong purchasing this club.

I am a bona fide club junkie. I have read a ton of reviews on this site when choosing different iron sets and drivers over the last couple of years. Don't you just love the reviews where every single reviewer hits the ball 220 with their 5 iron or "averages" 300 yards off of the tee. I'll tell it like I hit it with this driver; straight.
I bought a 10.5 at my local shop with the NV HL-S 60gram shaft in excellent used condition for $120. I took it straight to the course and proceeded to hit 10 of 14 fairways.
I am a 16.3 handicap and have a swing speed measured at 108 with the driver. I am an inconsistent ball striker, which is reflected in my handicap. Hopefully, this driver in my bag will at least give me the opportunity to change that, because it is straight. It is really hard to hit a bad ball. I assume that my average drive was in the 250-255 range. I hit the occasional long ball, but everything was straight and solid. I tend to hit a fade and this driver didn't disappoint.
If I had my choice, the I would have bought a 9.5, becausethe ball flight is definitely higher than my 983K 10.5. The setup on the driver inspires confidence, like you can't miss. The shaft responds best to a nice even tempoed swing unlike the original NVs. With the new speed drivers from Cobra, you should be able to pick these up pretty cheap.
