Cleveland Launcher Titanium Drivers

Cleveland Launcher Titanium Drivers

DESCRIPTION

The LAUNCHER Driver was first introduced in November of 2000 to a select group of PGA Tour professionals. Put in play immediately, the LAUNCHER driver started making headlines when Vijay Singh used it to win back-to-back tournaments on the European Tour. Andrew Magee landed in the PGA history books when he made the only ever hole in one on a par four. Other golfers also used the LAUNCHER to win on Tour. The LAUNCHER Driver is rapidly earning a place in golf bags on and off The Tour because of its unprecedented distance and all-around performance.

Boasting a traditional shaped 330cc clubhead, the LAUNCHER features a Titanium body and a thin Beta-Titanium face that precisely meets the legal COR (coefficient of restitution) limit set forth by the USGA. The LAUNCHER Driver was designed to not only meet the needs of pros on The PGA Tour but, more importantly, to bring better distance and enjoyment to your game.

I tried many drivers and the Launcher suited me best. I purchased a used one with a UST Proforce 65 shaft in it and it works awesome. BTW - The reviewer below me is full of you-know-what by stating he can hit his 3 iron 300 yards...

I recently played with two friends who had purchased the launcher. Both crusched the ball off the tee with the Launcher. They explained that it had added 20 yds to their shots. Both were in the 300 yd range several times over 18 holes. Unfortunately for them, I hit my three iron just as far. I hit the club a few times of the tee and I was definitely impressed with the spring of the ball off the face of this club. It does launch. They used a 10 degree, whereas I use a 9, so I can't honestly rate it myself, but if their experience is any guage, it appears to be a great club.

Model Reviewed: Cleveland Launcher 330, 9.5 reg

After one month of golfing with this driver I am convinced it has resulted in lowering my scores by about 4 strokes. I seldom miss the fairways any more and the only poor shots occur when I am overcome with the urge to swing harder. My previous club was a Quadpro 9.5 reg. The Launcher has a much higher ball flight with more carry and less roll. Overall I get slightly more distance but most significant is the greater accuracy. Yesterday I played on a windy day and to keep the ball lower I had to swing very easy with a short follow through. My old Quadpro might have been a better club under those conditions. The deep face requires longer tees but this adjustment almost eliminates fat shots. I like the performance of the 65g. Fujikura reg shaft, just not crazy about the gold color.

played the launcher for about 36 holes so far, and it's a pretty good club for it's price. club is very forgiving, will go dead straight even on heel and toe hits. driver has the regular flex shaft, and it felt like a noodle to me. maybe i need to upgrade to a stiffer shaft. a couple of things i dislike is that it is incredibly LOUD at contact. it's pretty cool at the beginning when you're blasting it straight down the fairway or at the range, but after awhile, it gets pretty annoying. another thing is that much like most other "big-headed" drivers on the market today, you'll find that cleveland sets their clubfaces slightly closed on the drivers. they design it that way so that it's SUPPOSED to square up at impact. the only new drivers that you can get that are not "closed" that i know of are titleist 975j and ping tisi. i haven't hit the ping tisi though. i tended to get a draw off of the launcher when i lined up normally and put the same swing on it as i do with the 975. with the 975 i hit it straight and long, but the cleveland was as easy to fix as tinkering with tee placement. but that's all the problems that i have w/ the driver. things that i love about the cleveland driver are pretty much wat everyone else raves on this review. the cleveland launcher is extremely forgiving. i do find that i lose about 10-15% distance on heel/toe hits however. i am about 15 yds longer off the tee with the launcher than i am with the 975, and 5 yds longer than the nike forged titanium. the club has excellent feel, and i can definitely tell if i hit it low/high or heel/toe. shaping the ball is effortless, much easier than the 975 and feels a lot more solid. club is very light, and requires little effort on the swing, as the club head does most of the work. great confidence booster and gives you an advantage for consistency without a doubt. this club definitely gives you great bang for the buck. i would definitely recommend this club for any golfer that wants to advance his/her game. oh, the 975j and nike driver isn't bad either.

i tried the Callaway C4(pos),taylormade r580(good with the right shaft, really bad with the wrong one,it was really a toss up with the Big bertha II and launcher. they both felt good to swing,of course callaway would have matched my odyssey putter and x-16 but overall for the money. i could either get the big bertha but i decided to get the launcher and tm 200 5wood for the same price as one club. it was totally worth it. im a beginner and the club was straight and long. it does have an ugly shaft but the shaft is a lot better than the callaway one. just try it, always shop around and dont listen to anyone when buying a club, just go with ur gut feeling.

Customer Service

roger dunn has the best customer service ever. even golfsmith salesman was surprised about the 90 try it and return it service. thanks roger dunn

club has a pretty nice sweet spot. club is extremely forgiving at toe hits. i've swung a nike forged titanium 350 cc, and titleist 975j....i'd have to say cleveland launcher can hang with the big boys, if not surpassing them with the performance/value combination. the only thing i disliked was that it was loud at contact. other than that, it was LONG and STRAIGHT. right when i bought the club, i took it out to the range, and i couldn't help but feel giddy when i started blasting the ball past 270 yds. keep in mind, i'm only 5'5 and 130 lbs.

Model Reviewed: Cleveland Launcher 400 8.5 W/ S shaft

I go this as a gift and I love this driver. I have been using Callaway Hawkeye Pro 8.5 W/ 3.2 shaft fot the past 3 years. I never believed that I would take my Callaway driver out of my bag. I hit my drives about 270 and this gave me additional 15 yards. Miss hits stay online and it's very easy to swing. The gold Fujikura shaft is great. One thing is the with the bigger head, I had to place my ball little forward in my stance to hit it just right. I tried the Cobra 427 and Taylor Made 500 drivers and this wins hands down. I also demo the new Callaway Big bertha II and it was junk. I got it free but with a $240 price tag it's a great driver at a awesome price.

Customer Service

Rodger Dunn is great, I don't like the driver i can exchange it within 90 days.

I was looking for my first ti driver to replace my 6 degree Steelhead and I wanted something w/ low loft. The store didn't have anything below 8.5 so I said that would do and one of the drivers they recommended was the 400. I said I wasn't interested in anything that big but they insisted that I swing it. Unbelievable! It felt like a TM 300. Took it to the course the next day and was shocked how long and straight this club was. The trajectory is amazing, even when hitting into the wind. I was hooked and ordered a 7.5 extra stiff. I never tried the 330 b/c it didn't come in 7.5 and I honestly couldn't imagine it being any better than the 400. Thanks Cleveland!

This club is fantastic. The first swing I took with this club I hit with a slight draw, down the middle 260 yards out. It was unbelievable. What really amazes me is how consistant it really is.

Well the reviews on this club are absolutely correct! Unbelievable distance and accuracy. The ball penetrates through the air like is was shot from a cannon. I was playing the Greatest Big Bertha with a Grafalloy Prolite 35 and really liked the club but wasn't as consistant as I needed to be. I demoed a ton of clubs and this one takes the cake. The X-stiff shaft is perfect for my swing. Not only is the club terrific but the price is even better. Now I've heard some people say that this club is horrible and they can't hit it....blah blah blah. Trust me if you can't hit this driver it's not the club it's your swing. You owe it to your game to give it a try.
