Cleveland Launcher Titanium Drivers

Cleveland Launcher Titanium Drivers

DESCRIPTION

The LAUNCHER Driver was first introduced in November of 2000 to a select group of PGA Tour professionals. Put in play immediately, the LAUNCHER driver started making headlines when Vijay Singh used it to win back-to-back tournaments on the European Tour. Andrew Magee landed in the PGA history books when he made the only ever hole in one on a par four. Other golfers also used the LAUNCHER to win on Tour. The LAUNCHER Driver is rapidly earning a place in golf bags on and off The Tour because of its unprecedented distance and all-around performance.

Boasting a traditional shaped 330cc clubhead, the LAUNCHER features a Titanium body and a thin Beta-Titanium face that precisely meets the legal COR (coefficient of restitution) limit set forth by the USGA. The LAUNCHER Driver was designed to not only meet the needs of pros on The PGA Tour but, more importantly, to bring better distance and enjoyment to your game.

I have waited until I played this club for two-months before commenting. My search for a driver is over. This club is so easy to hit that it should be illegal. I had an old RAM driver and the head flew-off one day and they screwed-up the club when they tried to attach a new shaft. Therefore, I have searched and searched, about 18-months, for a club that I could hit consistently. The Cleveland Launcher is that club. I can hit it straight and long, not a bad combination. It is about 20-yards longer than my Wilson Deep Red which I traded in the next day after hitting the Launcher at a demo day. I was happy with the deep red, but, it always felt “woody” and the ball felt dull coming off the face. Not so with the launcher. For my swing-speed, low 90’s, I hit the ball “consistently” in the 230’s. That is yardage in the air, before roll. I was on the machine at the driving range and the pro had me on the machine checking my swing-speed and ball flight and told me that for my age, 52 about 5’ 7” tall, and my swing speed that I can’t expect to get much more distance in the air from a club. I tried them all and this is the one. As Neo would say, “Wow!” I'm not telling you to go out and buy this club, that would be stupid. But, you owe it to yourself to at least find somewhere where you can hit this club.

my first Ti; 20 yds longer than my steel War Bird. More forgiving on all shots, off-center hits are not too far from target line, and longer than with other clubs. I play a controlled fade. Instills confidence at address. Don't overswing, let the club do the work. No better or worse than Taylor R500s, I like the feel, look, etc. of the Cleveland. And it's $100 less. Don't let $ be an object when buying clubs, you'll pay for it every round later. Question? I read another review that said the stock shaft (Fuj.) can induce fade, low kick point, etc. Can someone email me and better explain this? Should I reshaft? The Cleveland rep recommended this shaft for me based on my swing speed 105 and slight fade (also, 9.5 deg is more closed than the lower lofts, etc). Suggestions?

This club is truely awesome. It certainly suits my game, I have a quick swing and therfore my connection to the sweetspot is not constant. With the Cleveland Launcher if i hit the ball from the toe of the club it still creates 225yds. From the Sweet spot anything up to 250yards no problem. I strongly recommend this club "it is truely awesome". Martin

Model Reviewed: Launcher 330cc 9.5 Stock Stiff

Been using a second hand GBB 10.5* reg shaft for 6 months fd that it gave me great distance, avg bout 250-270m but was only hitting the fairways 75% of the time. Was told that the shaft was too weak for my swing and that i needed a stiff flex. So decided to try the newer drivers on the marker, tried a second hand ERC1 10* and a new ERC 2 9* with stiff stock shaft(very disappointing), 2nd hand Hawkeye VFT 10.5* stiff(lacked distance avg bout 250 but very straight the TM 510 10.5*,540 9.5* and 580 9.5* in stiff .. the 510 was more suited to me avg 270m but off centre hits lacked distance and strayed, Ping Tisi 9*(straight but avg 250m only), the C4 9* (in stock stiff shaft is lousy but with the pro series tour stiff shaft, I was hitting the ball very long and straight ...was awesome avg distance was 300m and very forgiving). Actually considered ordering the C4 with the pro series shaft but was told it would take 1 month. Then by accident i heard someone hitting a driver in the nets, the sound was very loud like my old Gbb and not like the muted sound of the C4,ERC and R510 R540 and R580. Inquired about this strange driver and was told it was the launcher and i immediately tried it and bought it together with a callaway pro series x14 rifle stiff iron set. Must say that it really is a very long, straight and forgiving driver. On the course today i was hitting it sraight down the center and avg about 300m, one drive went 310m, I was so pleased i also ordered the launcher fairway woods. This has to be one of the best drivers on the market today, in my humble opinion all the drivers can perform well if mated to the right shaft. The fujikara shaft of the launcher works very very well with it. The other driver that i liked was the C4 in pro series shaft. The head cover for the launcher also looks quite cool unlike the c4 and the TM R series. Furthermore its so much cheaper and more aesthetically pleasing, compared to the other products on the market

I tried this driver on the range and was impressed because mis-hits still went about 225 or so and they went relatively straight. My old driver averaged about 240, with long balls somewhere around 260 yards. But it had too small a sweet spot for my inconsistent swing so I decided to upgrade to a larger head. On the course I hit a few good drives early on, but then I kept hitting these big slices. This was new for me. I also noticed I was hitting a lot of drives off the heel. One negative thing is that I could feel the club twist on the downswing. Not sure if this is a torque problem with the Fuji shaft or just getting used to a larger head. This may just be something that needs time to smoothe out. Unlike some previous posts, I think the Fuji shaft is plenty stiff. It loaded nicely and I never felt like it was whippy or out of control. I didn't really find it softer than labelled, and my old driver was a stiff EI-70. Overall feel so far is just OK. I say that because even on the good drives I didnt get the feeling that I nutted it. I guess I'm still searching for the sweet spot. Tee height seems to be critical with this club. I think when I fine tune everything it will really pay off big. My Launcher definitely needs some more time on the range and the course, but overall, I am very impressed with it.

Like most of you in search of the "perfect" driver, I was a little overwhelmed by all the choices. That's further compounded by the fact that some days one club is "the one" and the next time out the results are different. Add to that, the myriad choices in component heads and shafts, and this becomes a seemingly perpetual search. I recently compared the Cobra SS350, the Taylor Made 360 (again), and the Launcher. Given the feedback I've seen on several sites, I was really leaning towards the Cobra. This was confirmed during my first dozen or so swings at the range. Its a great looking club (as is the TM) and was a significant improvement over my existing driver (ZT Maxima 300) in accuracy. Distance was a small plus. With my bias towards the Cobra and the better looks of the club versus the Launcher, I didn't try the Cleveland club until I was down to my last 10 balls. I was stunned! I hit this club every bit as far as the Cobra (longest shot was the Launcher) and found it to be significantly more accurate, especially on less than perfect swings. That's where the difference comes in for me. As tired as I was after 3 buckets, I did not seriously mi$hit this club once. Offline shots were slight pulls (very straight trajectory) or very slight fades. The Fuji gold shaft is appealing to some (not so much for me) but is perfectly mated to this club. The stiff plays a little more like a firm (between regular and stiff) and was ideal for my 97 mph swing. Ball flight is of medium height and does not balloon. Roll appears to be good. All of this for a club that retails a full $100 dollars below the price of a Taylor Made. In short, if you're in the market for a new driver, you MUST give this a shot!

Model Reviewed: Launcher 9.5 deg Graphics Design YS7 Stiff

On off center hits, I kept bleeding the shot to the right. Frustrated, I went back to my old driver. In April, I attended the Cleveland Demo day. The rep watched my swing and recommended the YS7 shaft. After trying the demo out, I hit everything straight! Cleveland's stock hosel shaft is .335 inches and twists on off center shots. The YS7 is a tip stiff shaft and has a higher kick point. Incidently, Cleveland fixed this problem. The new Launcher 400 drivers have a .350 tip stiff hosel. After I reshafted my club, I now use it all the time. I recommend the YS7 or UST proforce 65 shaft. Both are tip stiff to prevent twisting for a tight shot dispersion.

I was given the club head from a friend that knew a cleveland rep. and he didnt want it lucky me!!!! It took about 6or7 rounds and driving range visits but this club is awesome it is long but very straight It seems to play alittle bit of a draw I agree with the last review but it doesnt slice or else you really try and lay into it! This is a great club and all I did is buy the shaft and winn grips for $42 I got a $369 club with this grip and shaft but it is worth it even if you have to pay for it. You can buy them now for $299 but without the shaft I use I would advise trying this shaft it is great Good Job Cleveland

I finally found it ! After having testet Callaways, Titleists, Taylor Mades, ++: The Cleveland Launcher 9.5 is just what the doctor ordered; it is pure fun ! It has an enormous power / distance and is forgiving enough to handle even pretty bad shots. The Launcher will be the club that takes Cleveland into the ”premier league” of golf equipment makers ! Their wedges are famous; their irons are getting there – but the Launcher will make the bigger companies start looking over their shoulders !
