Cleveland Hibore XLS Draw Drivers

Cleveland Hibore XLS Draw Drivers

DESCRIPTION

This club is designed for players who tend to fade or slice. A forward hosel design, internal heel weighting, and a draw biased face combine to eliminate slices and maximize distance. A 3 degree closed face promotes a draw flight. At 17% larger than the HiBORE XL, the face is Cleveland's largest ever and among the biggest on the market. Full Face Performance (FFP) extends the "Hot Zone" of maximum. 830 COR across a larger portion of the face creating more distance from both solid shots and mishits alike.

I am very impressed by this club. I shoot in the upper 80's currently and have tried several techniques to help lower those scores. For years I thought that it was my playing style or flaws kept me from playing the type of golf that I'd be comfortable with. Low and behold, a change of clubs has helped my slice problems.
I have a fast club speed from 115-120 and drive on average 260-300 depending on contact. I took this club to the range and hit about 24 shots. Of all the shots, 2 were off center. One of those were because I was trying to slice it. The distance was between 280 and 315 with about 5 going 320+. It has the Fujikura Fit-On M Graphite Shaft - Gold. I know the shaft isn't made for the club speed but it fits me really well.
I for years have been using hand me downs from friends and family who have upgraded, from Walmart clubs to first generation Big Bertha's.
This club is truly impressive. I tried the Ft-5 Draw, Ping G10, Ft-i, as well as others. This club fits me perfectly.

Model Reviewed: Cleveland Hi-bore XLS Draw

I hit all my irons perfectly straight about 98% of the time hybrids included. However as far back as i can remember i have had a moderate to severe slice on all of my woods until today. I was thinking about a TM burner draw instead but after hitting one at my local range i was less than impressed with the slice correction. after hitting the ping g-10 draw i thought that the correction was good but i couldnt hit the club distance wise to save my life. it was only a 9.5 degree plus the draw factor makes it act more like an 8.5 degree. I was skeptical going into the Hi-Bore but i figured it couldnt hurt i got a great deal trading in an old cobra ironset and 130$ for the new cleveland. took it to the range and hit the first 5-7 balls straight and maybe a little longer than before. its noticably louder than most drivers excluding the nike SQ lineup but its much more tolerable.
Nice soft grip.
