Cleveland HiBore XLS
I was shopping for a high MOI driver and narrowed it down to the TM Burner and the HiBore XLS. I particularly liked the fact that both came with a retail price of $299. None of the $500 nonsense the other big guys are ripping golfers off with. When the swing analyzer showed a 5 mph higher ball speed with the same swing speed with the HiBore, I was sold. Unfortunately, the techie put me with the gold shaft which produced a high balooning ball flight at the range. I exchanged it for the red shaft with the higher kick point and stiffer tip and it made all the difference. Ball flight is perfect and consistent. This club is amazing on off center hits. Can't say I'm getting a great deal more distance than from my Cleveland 460 Launcher (maybe 10 yards), but even a relatively bad swing will produce acceptable results. This club is one of the best bargains out there in the high MOI driver world. Customer Service None needed at this point, but historically Cleveland has been superb. |

Cleveland Hi-Bore XLS Draw
GAME CHANGER! I've played to a 5 handicap for the past few years. I hit a low penetrating ball flight very straight with everything but the driver. Driver always was a 5 to 10 yard power fade with 8.5* loft driver, didn't matter which model. Aimed at left edge of fairway and let it fly, normally 250 yard carry and 20-40 yards roll. Wind effect always minimal on my flight compared to all other quality golfers I play with. Noticed the Taylor Made moveable weight technology over last few years and hoped it could eliminate the fade. Went in to try the TM R7 and instead found that Cleveland had just released the new Hi-Bore XLS driver in a Draw model, featuring 3* closed face and heel weighting. Everything in my bag for years has been Cleveland so forget the TM R7 lets try the Cleveland. I could not believe the difference this technology produces. I now effortlessly play a draw with absolutely no swing change. I have about 20 rounds in with this club and it took me only a few rounds to master and trust it. Now I aim right center of fairway and swing with confidence. That occassional bad swing that would produce a more pronounced fade has now become a straight ball. If you are an accomplished golfer with a fade tendency with a driver you MUST try this club! I just played 6 straight rounds with my highest score 75 and lowest 70, and I swear the putter cost me an average of 4 shots per round. I'm just a few visits to a sports psychologist away from being a bonafide scratch golfer. The only thing I miss about my low fade driving is it's penetration into the wind due to the reliable rollout. I actually do hit this draw driver shorter into the wind if i hit it straight, due to the fact that a straight ball has more backspin thus less roll, a drawback I can live with. But down wind look out, that draw rollout is 30 to 50 yards, and thats with a 10.5* loft. I would like to see Cleveland offer this draw technology in a 3 wood, like TM does in their R7 fairway woods. There is absolutely no better bang for your buck than Cleveland products, they are GAME CHANGING! Customer Service Never needed. Similar Products Used: Launcher Ti460; Launcher 400. |
