Steelhead Plus 11 Degree
I struggle to use Large headed Drivers because to me they feel like a bucket on a stick. I bought an 11 degree steelhead plus with Callaway Graphite Stiff s.haft off Ebay for $50.00, best purchase I ever made. For me, it has solid contact every time, even on mishits and almost always goes straight and long with a very solid feeling and pleasant sound. It has a nice solid weight, not too light like many bulbous headed 460cc Drivers these days, the weight helps me to keep it on plane. I hit this 15 year old Driver 220 to 240 metres consistently no problem and that suits me just fine, and I'm 48. I also use Taylor Made Firesole rescues in 18, 21 and 24 degree and they're awesome too, one of the best if not the best Hybrids ever produced. The original and the best in my opinion..like the Steelhead Plus, one of the best ever produced and if you love a club, and it works for you, stick with it, no matter how old it is. I have always liked the sound and compact feel of the steelhead line. I have been spraying drives too much the past few years with the latest and greatest drivers w/ graphite shafts.

There's an element of preference with golf equipment, of course. I can't embrace the 460cc drivers. Fun to grip it and rip it, but I don't feel like I can control them. I have a couple of aging favorite "midsized" wood sets and started panicing about what I would do when I needed to buy something new.
Customer Service Can't believe how great of a service Calloway's pre-owned system is. What a great company.

I have had the Steelhead Plus driver for 5+ years and thought it was time to upgrade. I tried the NIKE IGNITE TW and was slicing the ball all over the course. After a month of driving frustration, I decided, if it is not broke, do not fix it. So I went back to the Steelhead Plus and I love it just as much as when I purchased it. I am consistantly 280-300 with a slight draw and I don't have to swing that hard. The head is nice to look at and it is not as bulky as the oversized clubs. The ball flys off the club and sounds great on impact. I have since bought a 7 wood and a 4+ wood so I have the entire set. Love this club and will not play with anything else for a long, long time!!!! Customer Service N/A Similar Products Used: Nike Slingshot Irons

I have the stock steel shaft which makes it nice and stiff and a tick shorter. I got this driver because I was so impressed with the 4 wood model I had. No disappointments. Very true driver, encourages you to make a smooth swing. I'm not a very long hitter (235 avg.) but I haven't found anything else that I can keep in play. I love the "smaller" head and simple look. Great club. Similar Products Used: War Bird |
