Callaway FT-3
Currently hit the Taylor Made R7 but was looking for a second driver. Just purchased an FT-3 today and took it to the range to hit some balls. Wow! First one ripped right down the middle. I noticed that the club has a muted sound on impact and I liked it. It also has a nice feel on impact - a little softer and less "hard" than some of the other drivers I've hit. The club has an NV-65 shaft in it which is the same as my R7. My guess is that I'm getting a solid 10 yards further than my R7. I also enjoy the look at address. I only hit 5 drives when I had a bucket of 25 to hit. My last drive looked and felt so good, I quit hitting it to savor the moment. Looked at the face on that drive and the ball mark was right on the screws. Just my personal experience but this club is a keeper. Can't wait to play my first round. My R7 will not be in the bag when I do play. Paid $199 for the club on sale. |

Callaway Fusion FT-3 draw
After reading umpteen reviews on numerous drivers I decided on the FT-3 draw. The folks at Callaway suggested an 80 gram Fujikura stiff shaft to match my current Proforce 75 stiff. It's a good club with reasonable distance, but certainly no further than my old Titleist 975J or Big Bertha Warbird. I am also fading a little more than I do with my 975J which surprised me. I decided to post my opinion because I have read so much about the distance and forgiveness of this club but I was honestly not impressed. Off center hits fly as well as everyone has claimed but the closed face makes it harder to work. Going back to my Titleist. |

Callaway FT-3 Tour 9.5 Neutral
I have played several, several, drivers in my 20 years of playing this game. I have tried the inexpensive and the very, very expensive. This club is the easiest to hit, most balanced, best feeling club I have ever put into motion. It has almost a "plastic" feel due to its construction and sounds rather strange when you hit it solidly. The absence of the "tinny" sound and the hard-as-steel feeling at impact sets this club apart from all the others on the market today. I have played the neutral tour version and aesthetically this club sets up very square. Most 460cc clubs these days set up significantly left of target. I have put an aftermarket (speeder757) shaft in this club just for the weight. However, the stock shaft was fine but produced a higher ball flight. With the deals found on this club on ebay, i would say give it a try. My driver was always the most suspect part of my game...until now. Customer Service Never used. Callaway FT3 10* Stiff
Bought the FT3 2 years ago to replace a Big Bertha Titanium. Played 10 odd rounds and could not miss a fairway. Regularly hitting 280 - 310 yards. Then something happened (with my swing presumably)and everything started going right. Very far and very sliced. Put the FT3 back in the cupboard and started using a TM R540 (old second hand club I found in a shop somewhere) started hitting some great drives again. Was invited to a Opti Fit session so I thought I would rip out the FT3 again and see if I could get a fitting recommendation on a new shaft for it. Went down the range and now I am creaming it straight 80% of the time and far. This driver is defintely the longest and straighetst one I have once my swing is worked in. Looking at the FT5 now - for that extra forgiveness. I would have to say the forgiveness of the FT3 is not suited to higher handicappers. Customer Service Great. No complaints at all. Callaway FT-3 Fusion, Neutral, 10*
I find it odd that some people are having issues hitting this driver. I have played Callaway clubs since I started playing golf and I have owned most everything they’ve made in recent history. I started out with the Big Bertha Warbird, moved to the Great Big Bertha, moved to the Great Big Bertha II, moved to the Hawkeye VFT, moved to the Big Bertha 454 Ti and now the Fusion FT-3. The FT-3 is, without question, the best driver I have ever played. I regularly play the Callaway HX Tour and HX Hot balls and with the Hot’s, the ball will simply fly off the club face. The sound of this driver is one of the things I like most about it. It sounds like a corked bat. There is a solid, thick wack when you hit it on the screws and when I do, watch out. I have consistently hit 280 to 310 yd drives with this driver. On a nicely sloped fairway, it’s going 330.
Customer Service Callaway customer service is among the best there is. I called them in regards to my 3 year old Hawkeye VFT irons not too long ago. After 3 years of regular, seamless play all of the sudden I broke 3 shafts in 2 weeks. Knowing these clubs were 3 years old and completely out of any type of warranty, I called them just to see if there were perhaps any known defects with this shaft that would all of the sudden cause them to go downhill like they did. They immediately e-mailed me a UPS shipping label, and asked me to send them in to be re-shafted for free. You simply cannot beat that. I decided against this simply because I wanted to try a new Graffaloy and UST shaft on them. Again, not many companies will offer this type of customer service. |

I bought the FT-3 from Callawys pre-owned site.
Customer Service I have used variopus Callaway products over the years and have delt with their customer service department about a half dozen times. Never a problem and they will stand behind their products. Similar Products Used: I been using a Great Big Bertha 3-wood for about 8 years and haven't found anything better. I recently bought a set of Fusion graphite wide sole irons and those things as AWESOME. |

After reading some of the reviews, let me clear some things up for a perspective buyer. In regards the review stateing the driver "does not even sound like a driver". I have been hitting the callaway great big bertha war bird for years and the fusion sounds nothing like the war bird, but dont let that discourage you. This driver is incredible. This club is for the slower, less powerful swinger. With this club in my bag, I gain 5 strokes easily. The opti fit system is a great accessory, but I recommend just getting the neutral weight setting. Correct your swing rather than trying to taylor the club because eventually with time your swing will straighten out. With that said, buy the club. Its worth every penny. I am concerned with this drive. I got a good deal on it originaly, but the Adila-nvs 55 stiff flex shaft ended up testing at a senior flex stiffness. $140 more dollars and waiting to see if it helps. I am not impressed with this product at all. I hope that the new shaft will help with the control issue. I have a 103 MPH swing speed.
