ERC II
I have been using this club for two months. It is absolutely fabulous! I have a ten degree loft with stock, regular flex shaft. My drives are longer, straighter and with a lower trajectory (and more roll) than ever before. I agree with others that a controlled swing produces better results than trying to kill the ball. I find this club very forgiving. I still slice the ball sometimes, but much less often. Usually this club produces a nice draw. Sometimes I hit a serious hook, which I rarely did before. Again, a slower, controlled swing does the trick. The sound at impact is indeed very loud, but I am now used to it and love it! When I hit the sweet spot (which is definitely a function of my swing but still happens more often than with other drivers), the ball springs (flies, explodes, etc.) off the club face. There is a distinct feel when this happens (i.e. good feed back), and the ball goes very, very far. With my best shots using my old drivers I might get 200-220 yards. With the ERC II I will get 230-240 yards. Even off center hits may go 200+ yards. I am fortunate to be married to a wonderful woman who embraces my golf addiction. She bought this club from a friend of hers in the business, so she paid wholesale. Now that I have used this magic club, I am sure I would have saved and paid retail for it! The best thing I can say is that this club is so much fun! It may not be right for everyone (what is?), but I recommend anyone give it a try. fantastic distance out of the middle but short, weak shots on anything just away from the sweet spot. probably great for the very accomplished golfer but there are better clubs out there for those of us who sometimes miss the sweet spot. 10* ERC II w/ UST 65 shaft
Got the hang of this driver after reshafting it. Plays much more accurate and predictble w/ a UST shaft. Swing in control and the club will reward you. Took 2 rounds to get used to the feel. Very different from the previous Hawkeye driver. ERC II produces a thick "clank" like a muted cow bell, while the Hawkeye produces a crisp "clink". I like the contact feel and sound of the Hawkeye slightly better, but I can''''t argue w/ the confidence this HUGE ERC II head inspires. When contact is good, the balls goes...and goes. Can''''t say for sure how much longer than my Hawkeye this ERC is, but it is definitely a few yards longer. One of my regular golf buddies usually outdrives me w/ a Titleist 975D, but this weekend I was either right next to him or a few yards ahead...and most importantly, still in the fairway. Don''''t pay retail. Look for a bargain on eBay. Customer Service Haven''''t needed to contact them yet... Similar Products Used: GBB Hawkeye, Taylor Made Firesole, Ti Bubble 2 |

None The Callaway ERC2 driver with a Graffoly Pro Lite shaft in a stiff flex is the most useless driver ive ever hit. It looks so good and sounds brillianly loud but the ball goes into the woods. My nice draws turned into horrible duck hooks and when i wanted to hit it straight it would turn into a huge slice. I only hit 1 good drive all day and it took it back to the shop and got all my money back. This driver was most disappointing. I sticking to my Callaway Hawkeye because this driver is by far more accurate and probably has the most forgivness out of any driver. Customer Service Proshop was very good in refunding my money back. Similar Products Used: Hawkeye, cobra, 320, 300, Launcher, Deep Red |

ERC II 8* R8 Flex
Strength:
None I have only praise for this club. Prior to this I was using a 9* Firm Flex ERCI, which was giving me great carry, but disappointing run. This 8* ERCII has maintained, to a large extent, the carry of my previous club, but now the ball hits the ground hot !! The run is superb. Obviously, the low loft is less forgiving, but as long as one doesn''t try to force the shot, the ball is pretty straight. The club itself is very forgiving - I could never imagine trying to regularly use any other club with this loft - and it sits behind the ball well. It does require extra long tees tho'', and it is clear that the sweet spot is quite high up on the face. The icing on the cake is that this club was an unwanted gift - hence the low, low price ! None I am a firm believer that a golfer must find a club that is right for him/her, and every club is not right for every golfer, but I don''t see how this club could get as bad a review as some of the people on here give it. This club really does it for me. It is long, it is forgiving, and it gives maximum results with minimum effort. Is it going to change your whole game?...Probably not. Is it going to turn an average hitter into a long hitter?...Nope. But if you are looking for a club that might give you a little more distance and forgivness, don''t be affraid to give this one a swing. None This driver really has the ability to hit far. With my original set of golf clubs, the iron can only hit 200 metres. However,I can hit up to 250 metres using this driver. The club head is big and the hitting sound can give more confidence. However,I have taking a while to familiarise with this club.It is not as forgiving as I am looking for.Nevertheless,I found it is worth as it can improve my driving distance. None I fortunately stumbled across a set of demo set ERC II''s at my local Pro Golf outlet, which was offered, to a few selected Callaway dealers at about 40% off the MSRP. Since they we demo''s and I was very curious to give this club a try (despite being pretty happy with my GBB), the dealer allowed take the club out (untapped) to give it a try. Once out on the range, this club simply amazed me and the surprisingly substantial distance increase was secondary thought! The trait that amazed me most was how easy to hit and forgiving this club was with most every ball either going straight or with a slight draw. Being a lefty, this is a huge benefit since a lot of courses tailor more to righties and drawing a ball has always been a bit of a challenge for me. My occasional to regular slice (depending how well I''m swinging) has completely disappeared with this club….simply amazing!!! Regardless, the ERCII claim to fame is a supposed unfair distance advantage and frankly despite a significant increase in distance (which is always welcome), distance without control is useless and this club tracks like a 4-wheel drive with ice radials! It is completely in control, consistent and just a lot off fun to hit (which is the whole point isn''t it?). This driver is the priciest on the market and having experienced what it can do, I would have gladly paid full price for it. Anyway, 20 to 40 extra yards in the middle of the fairway IS priceless and I give this club a huge two thumbs up!. Needless to say, this club is staying in my bag.
