I had no serious intention of purchasing the ERC II at the asking price, but wanted to try it anyway. About 5 hits later on the practice tee, and I was in love. I found that if I hit a 80% swing, with the ball teed high, I got a long penetrating draw. Off-center hits got reasonable distance, and were very forgiving. However, hit the sweet spot and this club sends the ball huge. It does hit the ball high, even when I teed it low, but for my swing that is perfect. Miles ahead of anything else I have tried.

I was honestly hoping that I would not like this club, because I don't have $500 to throw around. Well, it is that good. This club is straighter then my old club, Tommy Armour Tommy Gun, and plus 20 yards. Other clubs I demo'd for fun were no longer than the Tommy Gun.

For serious golfers, we know that getting off the tee is crucial, and this club is incredible. BTW, I've never been a real fan of either Callaways Big Bertha irons or metal woods, this club caught me by surprise.

As far as bad reviews for this product - get some lessons !

Don't try and smash the ball, let the club do the work - 280+ with a slight draw is easily achived with an 70-80% swing

After hearing about this driver, I reluctantly decided to try it. Before leaving with a demo, told the store manager, "I hope I don't like it". Frankly,I did not expect, nor want to like the ERC2. (Never liked Calloway in the first place). Boy was I wrong! What a club! Tried the 10* and 11*. Hit both much more consistently than my 975D. Prior to this shocking experience, I was a walking commerical for 975D's. One very important factor in selecting this club, you can not "jump" on it. Smooth swings, great tempo, balanced finishes are highly rewarded. Hard and fast swings are definitely not. Also able to consistently hit the 11* off the grass. My 975D & 975F are both for sale now. Still can't believe the results, or for that matter, the price.

the longest driver in golf, bar none.
something is worth every penny if it's the best. and this driver is.
does it sound funny? yes. does it feel hard on sweet spot and misshits? yes.
so what! it's freakin' long.
if you've given a review on this stick, and said it wasn't longer than any other driver you've ever hit, you are a chop! stick with your 3 wood.
the usga is a purely political organization, who gives a sh-- what they think. demo one, you'll love it.

I can't believe it. I am not allowed to use it by my foursome when we are betting. They say that it is not fair, because it is too easy to use, and I always hit around 350 yd (including roll), and straight to the target !

Well, that's OK, I can use my old Callaway Hawk Eye (this one is about 50 yd shorter, with the same accuracy).

I just bought this driver about 3 months ago. This driver is easy to use, but to use it optimally, you have to develop a good tempo.

This driver is excellent for practising in the driving range. Because it is slightly more difficult to handle (it is longer and heavier) compared to other driver.

Once you can use this driver, you can use virtually any other driver.

However, one thing for sure, the distance of the ERC2 is still the longest compared to the others. It is an accurate driver also. I hit 90% on the fairway at 300 yards.

I have been trying other new driver also, but none of them is as long as ERC2.

Btw., the feeling when you hit it right is very nice, it's very solid. You can feel as if you can use all power you have to blown the ball away !

Sorry, I just can't stop talking about it. After reading a few posts below, it reminded me of some things I wanted to say.

If you have a hard swing already, you will get the most out of this club. THIS IS NO JOKE: Bring a set of binoculars and hand them to someone in your foursome, or you WILL NOT be able to see the drive land.

I reiterate...If you can't hit this club, it certainly is not the club that's messing up. All these spoiled Callaway Hacks that need a club they can just close their eyes and swing, need to crawl back into their trailer and have a Miller High Life on me.

Finally - This is the first club I've ever hit that actually highlighted the shortcomings of range balls. Once you get on the course and hit a brand new 2-piece Titleist or Callaway CB-1, you will see an ADDITIONAL 10-20 yds.

Here is the STRAIGHT story - based on many weeks of research, and testing.
I am a "senior" (59); slow swing speed; pretty new to the game. I play ONLY for my own entertainment, so the nonconforming issue is a non-issue for me. In fact I seldom keep score - I'm out there for fun. Period.
The first opinions I got on the ERC II were pretty much "YOU HAVE TO SWING AT LEAST 95 MPH TO GET ANY ADVANTAGE" Even the salespeople at most stores said the same thing. So I went with a TM 360. Once in a while I nailed it and it went FAR. But more often I lost it way right or left. More weeks of research, talking and testing followed. Finally I spent one entire week on the subject.(I'm retired) I talked at length with a very bright Callaway rep. I talked with an instructor at Leadbetter Academy, and a pro at Bay Hill. Now I was getting the opinion that if the ERC were properly fitted (flex, loft) then any swing speed COULD benefit. Three weeks ago I purchased the ERC II with a light flex and 11* loft. After one week of getting used to this club here are the facts - for me: I AM HITTING DRIVES ANYWHERE FROM 15 TO 45 YARDS LONGER THAN EVER. I AM HITTING VIRTUALLY EVERY FAIRWAY. AND!!!!!!! , I am not yet hitting the sweet spot more than 20% of the time! Forgiveness? I have even hit on the very end of the toe and still stayed in the fairway with just a distance loss. So anyone - and I mean anyone - who wants longer, straighter drives, and who does not need USGA approval for how they live - will benefit from this club. Interesting point from a party I won't ID: When you purchase a mass produced driver and it says 10 degrees - it may be anywhere from 9 to 11 if measured. Many drivers that say they are close to the COR limit may in fact NOT be within the limit IF that particular club were tested. So many folks out there with "conforming" clubs may be just as nonconforming as the ERC II's - and many ERC II's may be conforming !!!!!
Long live the ERC.

One word. OVERRATED!!!!!! I am not going to lie and say that I didn't get anymore distance. I did, about 5 yards. Which isn't something to write home about. I would also give up those 5 extra yards to use a club that is legal in tournaments. The thing is also gargantuan. It doesn't look like it at address, but when you actually look at the face, the thing looks like the Hindenburg. Also, the sound this thing makes is ear popping. I had people move away from me on the driving range because it is so loud. I don't know how this club fares for the golfer with a 20 or 30 handicap, but after a certain point, no club can take multiple strokes off your game unless you practice, and this club tries to say that it will take multiple strokes off, which could make people practice less, and therefore get worse or stay the same. This new technology is promising, but it has to perfected before I will dive in.

None, and I think it will stay that way.
