I am a beginner in golf, still learning how to hit with the driver.

I purchased ERC II in a Pro Shop in Jakarta. It was very expensive (US$ 750 !), but I didn't really care, I was frustated with my old driver (big bertha hawk eye), and willing to switch to any driver as long as I can use it.

My first impression, ERC II is much easier to hit. After practising about 1 week, I can hit 250-300 yard ! (compared to 200 yard with hawk eye).

I am really satisfied with ERC II, and feel lucky that USGA rules does not apply in my country.

I found this driver an unfortunate dissapointment from the former quality of Callaway Golf's product line. This driver is not only all hype, and translates to actually less distance if only slighty off of center, but it attempts to circumvent golf as we know it. While it may technically okay to 'enjoy the game,' that is only a pretext for Callaway to fight a battle of public opinion with the USGA. In Ping's lawsuit over square grooves, they at least had the common decency to hault production during the suit, not such with Callaway's desire to fill an ever waning profit margin. However, this driver simply does not in any way suit my taste. You must not attempt to make any force in this swing, or a bad shot will result. You simply cannot 'go after it' with any sort of an aggressive effort. This problem is only amplified with the very weak shaft. In sum, this driver is a true detriment to the game. While it attempts to give the ultimate performance, it provides no feel, and is not nearly what it is cracked up to be.

Customer Service

My experience with Callaway's service is redeemingly good, for after you cave in the face, you will need them.

Great Club, if you can't hit this over 100 yards you need a cane and not a driver. Fun too hit, and only illegal in tournement play, but hey Golf is supposed to be fun and this is a fun club that helps the average player out. Only people that are slamming this club haven't hit it long enough or need work on there swing like the most of us.

Well Golf is about 99% subjective on your swing. If you have a decent swing which takes time a effort, this club will also reward you with very long straight drives... Also try a set of the new Titlest VR-1s

Great Club and you will see results. The Club is accurate and it will go long. As the last 2 reviewers stated and I must agree, it's never the club, it's who is using the club that needs improvement, much like myself......... Have fun Good day......

This Club is a Joy to have on one's bag. The name of the game is consistacy! This Club goes far and straight, but just like any other club you need to hit is straight regaurdless of what Club it is.
If you make Contact with this unit it will fly and far and straight, very forgiving if someone thinks it slices or hooks it's not the club it is "YOUR SWING".... I hit one Bucket of balls with this and that's all it took for me to buy it...

This Club is like a sling shot and has alot more than just a small sweat spot! Funny thing is if most people don't see results with in a few days they get all Pissed off, 90% of the game is your swing and the consistancy of it. This Club can rack up the Yards more than any other club I have seen, and it is the straightest hitting club I have hit so far. If your standing next to this thing when it goes off it can cause some major ringing in thy Ears :) Franky there is no miracle Club but this one comes close. If you have a decent swing you can hit anything, I can't believe a Pro couldn't hit this over 100 Yards unless.
I was averaging 250-320 "straight" with it, and I am a ex-Hockey Player who still has somewhat of a slapshot swing.
If you can find this Driver for under $500 it is more than worth its enjoyment.

A friend gave me this club after he decided he didn't like it (good friend, huh!). It's a 9 degree, and this isn't the ERC II, but the first ERC (it came from Canada). I don't think there is any difference to the US sold club.

This club goes long, but for me it is at the sacrifice of consistency and accuracy. I was easily hitting drives 270 yards, but slices were creeping in.

Also, I think you really need a slower swing speed with this club, just an opinion.

And it makes a hell of a noise when you hit the ball... it's kinda frightening at times.

The size of its sweetspot must be the size of a pea...couldn't get it further than 150 yards..tried it out on my local range from another guy who was hitting balls next to me...thats ok...the owner couldn't get it futher than 100. The sound being hit almost broke my eardrums.
