I am a murderer!!!!!!!

I absolutely killed the ball off the tee.

My drives have becomes the strongest part of my game, after years of it being my achiles heal. For years, I could only hit a 3wood off the tee...went from a hooker to a slicer and back.

I have never hit a club so easily off the tee as this.

You can swing like daily and just clobber it, or swing smoothly and still send it on its way.

I demoed this club and hit it on the range maybe 20-25 times averages 290-310 on my drives....His some bombs on the course as well.

I found that an easier swing will keep it straight, and this is real the case where you want to let the club do the work. The hard the swing, the more I was pushing to right.

As far as the USGA rules and non-confomring goes. Read above where it says that only the 11* is illegal.

Great club for higher handicapper who have a good fundamental swing.

This is not the club that will help you get under 110 though.

Customer Service

I am a Callaway customer for life. These guys have the best service around. I snapped a few shafts on my x-14's and called them to have it replaced. They replaced the whole set with new shafts--even after I told them I snapped my wedge in anger like an idiot. They even resurfaced the face of all my irons and woods.

Ely insists on having his office in the customer service department because he believes so strongly in taking care of his customers. As the rep told me "Mr. Callaway thinks that with the amount people pay for his clubs, he wants to make sure that they are happy for as long as they own the clubs...and come back for their next set."

I purchased this Driver (10.5 degree) in order to get extra yards and impress my friends to be honest. I loved the "ting" but hated where the ball went afterwards. Hit it perfect, and it goes. Hit it a little less than perfect and it's time to visit the monkeys in the woods. It has a strong tendency to "duck-hook" on you, and I have never in my life "ducked-hooked" a shot prior to this club. It is by far the most erratic and moody club made. Do yourself a favor and buy the Orlimar HipTi and put yourself in the fairway.

I THINK THIS IS THE BEST DRIVER I HAVE EVER HIT. I CANT FIGURE OUT HOW IT EVER GETS BAD REVIEWS. I CRUSH THIS DRIVER STRAIGHTER THEN MY PREVIOUS DRIVERS. I HAD A TITELIST 975D AND IT WAS LONG BUT NOTHING LIKE THIS BEAST. THE BEST THING ABOUT THIS DRIVER IS THAT IT IS NOT HARD TO HIT. TOE IT, HEEL IT IT DONT GO 330YRDS BUT IT STILL WILL GO WHERE A NORMAL DRIVER WOULD. HIT IN THE SWEET SPOT AND SEE YA LATER. I LOVE THIS CLUB AND WOULD TELL EVERYONE WHO CANT HIT IT AND GIVES IT BAD REVIEWS TO GO GET SOME LESSONS. I THINK MANY PEOPLE ARE TERRIBLE AND EXPECT A CLUB TO IMPROVE THEIR SWING AND WHEN IT DOES NOT THEY BLAME THE CLUB.

Re Stephen in Nevada: This club is controversial, and you simply cannot review the club without also reviewing the surrounding issues, any more than you can discuss Casey Martin's swing without mentioning golf carts. At stake is nothing less than the USGA's right to set limits on the performance of clubs, balls, etc. used in competition. One's decision to purchase this club requires more than a mere inspection of its playing characteritics. You must also be prepared to accept that you are violating the rules of the USGA. Even if you disagree with those rules, there are those who follow them who would limit your ability to play tournaments, post scores etc. Therefore, choosing this club requires an ethical decision which goes beyond 'how does it hit'. Indeed, Callaway clearly intentionally designed the ERC to be illegal in order to garner the publicity which that status would provide. That tactic has succeeded, but comes with a flip side, which is being subject to the type of scrutiny involved in the ERC's "politics" and "other matters". I have no doubt that the ERC is a 'good' club, one that can be hit long and possibly even straight by otherwise modestly talented players. Using a catapult might also do the same thing. That is not the question. The question is should corporate manufacturers flood the market with products that require less and less talent, in contravention of a rules making body, and is the potential buyer willing to join in that disregard of those standards. This is an issue which does some require serious consideration.

Holy Smokes! I've tried a few drivers in the market before but nothing could compare to The ERC 2. I usually hit drives of about 260-280 yards but I tried the ERC 2 on a round and I was easily getting 30-40 yards more when hit on the sweet spot. The drives were also straighter because of its toed in head. I would recommend this driver for all of us slicers. The last time I played with it, I hit a 310 yard drive right onto the green of a short par 4 and a 320 yard drive on a 510 yard par 5. Got 2 easy birdies, when usually I would have had pars, bogeys, worse etc with any old driver. If you want to enjoy golf and score better and make yourself feel better on the Tee, Buy the ERC 2. However, its got a ridiculous price though.

Callaway has always been good. I lost my 5 wood cover lately, and callaway replaced it for free, sending it to me in a week.

I have played callaway drivers for 10 yrs and could not wait to try this club. Despite having the correct model for my swing this test was a nightmare, I can not hit this club. My handicap is 13 possibly to high for this club but driving is my strong point

The ERC is a BEAST. If the mechanics of your swing are "good" not "exceptional" playing this club will improve your driving distance.

I hit the ERC II, and in comparison, was ABSOLUTELY NOT as far as the original ERC. The ERC II is nothing more than a toned down original. Callaways attempt at making the club conforming.

If the ERC was sold here in the US, it would destroy the sales of the ERC II.

Every person is certainly entitled to their own opinion, but to honestly say that this club does not give you extra distance is just a flat out lie!!! There is a reason it is a non conforming driver.

If your in the market for a new driver, guys look for an original ERC, it truly is a BEAST.

Looking for a club to hit consistantly and predictably? Look elswere. Looking for a rewarding challenge? ERCII is it. This club can be frustrating at times but very fun for the most part. A club for low hdcps. I have a 3.1 hdcp.

I don't own this club but I have tried it out on numerous occasions and I fully understand why this club is banned from USGA events. I first used it at demo day and didn't know that it was the illegal model. I hit it about 15 yards further than the PING ISI, which I thought was the best driver I tried before this. It was straight too, it has the loudest ting off of the club face I have ever seen. If you can afford the price and don't play in many tournaments this club is for you.

Well, I hit the Hippo Giant longer and straighter... and guess what, its legal. The ERC II is just not that big of a deal... it doesn't hit but maybe 5 yds longer than my Titleist... which could be compensated for if I put an ultralight shaft in my Titleist over the deadly accurate UST PF 65 Gold shaft. The Hippo out drove the ERC by 2 yds... and it was just a bit less accurate than my 975D. I also had better feel on the other two. All in all, good driver I give it three stars, but I drop a star because its illegal... doesn't fit in my bag since I play in many USGA sanctioned tourneys/matches, etc. and its terribly overpriced.

Customer Service

nope, I do find it disturbing that they would continue producing this in midst of all the lawsuits, etc. Nothing legally wrong with it, just kind of unethical... Callaway is out for the dollar, not for golf.
