I have been playing Foxfire regularly for the past several months. The course has new management and is in very nice condition. It has been rated 3 1/2 stars, and I think it is well worth that rating. It is typical, gorgeous south Florida, with lots of beautiful woods, flowering plants, palms, water hazards and sandy fairways and amazing bird life everywhere. The fees are resonable and the employees are very helpful and knowledgeable. I find it to be a very challenging well managed, and beautiful golf course, and anyone in the Sarasota area should check it out. I'm lucky...I live here year round and can play anytime. I really like playing after 3 p.m. in the summer, for 18 holes, it is only 17 bucks with a cart. That's really bargain golf.

We played here in mid-January, 2003. We had time only for 9 holes and played the Oak course. While two holes are next to a road, the course is very pretty with stands of trees lining many of the holes. The fairways are in good shape, and the greens were in excellent shape. The tee boxes are a bit odd in that they are not flat, but round topped. This leaves you only one spot to tee from, if you want to tee off a flat surface. The fee is the same whether you use the cart, walk, or use a pull-cart. We walked, of course, and this is no challenge as the course is flat and not very long. Water is found on a few holes. We payed $24, I think, and I do not hesitate to recommend the place.
