This is indeed an 'old style' course that is a great value at the $36 w/cart. Paying anymore than that, IMPO, is a bit much. If you are not a solid irons player or a good irons player off the tee, then pass on this course. If you are a good iron player and a good course management player ...then this is an excellent course for you to try. The course isn't overly long but the narrow fairways, tricky dogtails and sneaky putting greens will give you fits if you're not on your game. You can basically leave the driver at home and just bring a 3-wood if you're a long hitter like myself . I think that I hit driver off the tee maybe five times max today. If you put the ball in the rough, the rough won't get you but the damned trees will! I wish that I would of had room in my bag for a chainsaw today. Don't try to be a hero, take your medicine like a man and get it back on the fairway to save strokes. The customer service was adequate and friendly. We probably saw a cart girl between 3-4 times today ...she was a cutie too btw! The clubhouse was OK but could use a makeover to catch up with the times. My one true 'knock' on the course is this ...if you have that many blind tee shots and dogtail holes, at least give the golfer a fighting chance by giving us a scorecard with the distances needed to meet or challenge those holes and dogtails. My partner and I were guessing all day due to the lack of knowledge in regards to this and it cost us a lot of strokes, in which, if we had a decent scorecard with the info, we would have had much better scores. If you have one of those yardage gizmos ...bring it with you to play this course! Overall, I'd play this course again for the price listed above. I would have loved to have played this course when I wouldn't of had a two week layoff due to medical reasons from playing or practicing. Although I didn't lose but a few balls all day, the trees and missed fairways made the round seem tougher than it really should have been due to unknown yardage distances.

Customer Service

Very friendly, saw a cart girl numerous times during a very early morning round.

This is probably my favorite course I've played this year. As far as bang for the buck I was really impressed. Other well known courses I've played this year include St. Croix National in Somerset and The Legacy at Cragun's in Brainerd. I liked this course better than either of those courses. I suggest playing the course with someone you know, because many of the shots are blind, including several tee shots. There is a significant increase in difficulty playing the blues over the whites. The interesting thing is that the course is actually fairly easy for women, and many of the "blind" shots are reduced from the reds. The upkeep of the course is really quite good, and when I played the greens were fairly consistent and fast. I thought that this was a "fun" course. My particular favorite hole is number four. It is a par four that is difficult to describe. The tee box is about fourty feet above the fairway which is set to the right. There are a significant trees lining the fairway to the right, and off of the tee there are trees almost immediately in front of you. You have to options: lay up on the fairway and leave yourself a medium length approach shot, or drive the ball over trees to reach a green that you can't see in one shot. I chose the latter and found my ball in the bunker left of the green. Number five is a reachable-in-two par five that could leave you with an eagle if you hole your putt.
