Great golf course...Great condition for early spring...Construction projet is being done on 17(par 3) It will look awesome when its done...I have played it over the years and have noticed the owners are always doing something new to improve the course...They constantly run specials..They do have a lot of outings..So call first( I would have an outing there, Its a great set up)...The down stairs has been remolded and looks great..The fairways are wide and the greens are huge...Its maintained like a country club....And its right off the freeway...close and easy

Western Lakes Golf Course is a course for high handicap golfers and all hacks. Other than holes #1,#9,#10,#18,the course is very flat and very boring with very large fairways and large areas of open rough on both sides of most fairways, and flat greens. The course is extremely overwatered - Most of the time in the summer - especially during a three week drought in July I hit an driver with average trajectory and no wind and had my ball plug three inches deep in the middle of the fairway. The course superintendent and groundskeeper overwaters every hole and has no knowledge of golf or course management skills. **Warning** The course is also now overrun and packed full of outings - sometimes two a day and 25 out of 31 days a month - 6 months a year, including Saturdays and Sundays - you will never be able to get out for a round of golf anytime from 8 - 5p.m. The owners and management of the club are ignoring the general public and have become obsessed with outings. This has become an outing only course and Western Lakes doesn't care about anybody else.

Practice Facility is nice.

Open, and relaxed. Easy to hit the greens, with little penalty for misplaced shots.

They dont call it "Western Swamps" for nothing! Plenty of marshy, wet, soggy, parts.

This is the kind of course that makes you think you are better than you really are! Fun to mess around on when you are out to have a good time. Cutie beer cart girl, and lots of open fairway. Throw a few back and unload the driver! Good course if you are working on your game, and dont want to lose too many balls.
