A very old, mature course with lots of surprises. Only a par 70 at 6,200 yards, but with many long par 3's and 4's. Greens were in excellent condition, many with multiple tiers. Holes #2 (par 3 towards lake), and #3 (par 5 with entire left side along water) are signature holes, but a bit dissapointing that they came so early in the round. #14 is a par 3 over 200 yards into a prevailing wind that no one in my group got close to the green off the tee. The course "plays as it looks" except for the tee shot on #16 (par 5); blind tee shot needs to be on left side of fairway to avoid being blocked out by trees on right.

My only complaint with the course is the layout, with many tees and greens being closer to each other than I care for, (#13 tee / #14 green, look out!!), but the holes themselves provided a lot more interest than I would have expected from viewing the course from Route 50.

We played on a free pass that a friend won at a golf outing, but the normal greens fee on a weekend was $78 w/cart, more than I would pay for this course. But the website (www.lakelawnresort.com) usually has specials that will get you under $50.

Customer Service

Excellent. Very friendly staff, and carts have full GPS. Clubhouse was old and small, but I don't really care about clubhouses.
