Shoots in the 70s

The course plays pretty long, and a couple of the par 3s require close to 200 to carry hazards. I could see playing here regularly and getting comfortable with it, but several of the holes dogleg, so you are left guessing where to play a drive or approach. Very nice course.

Customer Service

Could be better, limited rental selection.

Shoots in the 80s

I was pleasantly surprised by the layout. Pretty flat, but had more variety than most courses in the area. Greens are large and mostly flat, and in beautiful shape. Fairways, especially on the back, were dried out, even though it hasn't gotten warm yet. If this course were in better condition, I'd say it was a must-play. Call for rates; the ones listed on the web-site are four years old, and the pro shop claims the City won't update it.

The course finally reopened after two renovation period. New greens and irrigation have been installed. Without a doubt, the changes are great. Five lakes have either been expanded or created so Water comes into play on ten holes. Five sets of tees allow you to choose length to suit you game 7300- 5200 yards. Amazingly the are only ten bunkers on the course and it plays harder than most courses I have played. The redesign features Jack Nicklaus type rolling fairways framed by mounds in the rough. The greens are very true and can be very fast when cut. Definitely worth playing compared to other courses in the area. Skip the TPC course and play Redwing and Signature at west neck. The rough is deep so keep it in play or bring plenty of balls. Course reminds me a lot of True Blue in Myrtle Beach. i.e. no houses on the course and forget looking for your ball in the woods. Nice driving range and practice areas for chipping and putting.

Customer Service

Not much of a club house and pro shop has limited stock of items.

Model Reviewed: Redwing golf course

I learned to play golf on this course. First plated there around 1975. I have probably played there 500 times. Redwing has a great routing and can play as long as you want. The tips are over 7000 yards. In fact Lee Trevino is the ONLY person that ever hit 18 in two as far as I know. He played the opening day. Art Wall, past master champ was the designer,he died in 2005. The course is now closed for a much needed renovation to the greens, irrigation system, and fairways. Reopening is schuled for summer 2006. The plans look awesome and it should be worth the wait.

Shoot in the 80s

I've been here twice and was not to impressed with the course or the conditions. The greens were bumby and didn't putt well at all. The fairways were very brown and on many holes were almost like dirt. The price was average compared to all the courses around it, so go someone else if you have the chance.
