We went to Cypress Creek Golf Course, got a tee time and played a wonderful 9 holes (as we had wasted some daylight with Nansemond River Golf Club), finished a little under 2 hours, and met an extremely kind man who checked us in and out. We encountered groups of golfers at the club house, a group of two other pro golfers who we let play through and were very nice, and were welcomed and enjoyed everyone's company. I highly recommend this Cypress Creek Golf Course. They were 30% as crowded as Nansemond and still had us wait 30 minutes or so for our game as they "refuse to ruin everyone's game by overcrowding their course." I could not agree more. Cypress Creek Golf Course is the place to be.

Customer Service

Fantastic! The man working the counter even helped me with my swing. Great place!

Nansemond River Golf Club....Apparently a "black diamond slope" as described by it's owner, Mark Lambert, and only for golf pros, you may be hovered over and reviewed on your skill level by the owner and if you are a small party you may be asked to leave as he overcrowds his course and then does damage control by kicking off less profitable parties. I, an admitted beginner, However I nor my friends and family who are experienced golfers and frequented this course in the past will never give another penny to Nansemond River Golf Club. Cypress Creek could not be more opposite. They were wonderful!

An excellent course overall. The maintence on this course is first class from the tee through the fairways and onto the greens. I have played there 3 times, (2 times from the blue and once from the black (>7100 yds)) It is long from either tees, especially with a 606 yd par 5 on the front nine. I would recommend this course to anyone living in the area or anyone planning to visit the area.
The GPS system provides a lot of assistent for those who haven't played the course.
