for this to be a top course the greens need to be cut shorter

This is a frustrating golf course. The layout is one of the finest in the Southwestern Virginia area, but, the course maintenance is subpar.

I have routinely found the fairways to be patchy and the greens to be sandy.

Hanging Rock golf course is one of the fines golf courses in Virginia. I would recomend it to people of all skill levels.
