Layout, course conditions, pace of play (never, ever crowded), greens are always true and consistnent, overall a fair but challenging course.

None that I can think of, other than it is private so you have to know someone to get on.

Water's Edge is a private country club track on Smith Mountain Lake and is easily the best course within an hour of Roanoke. If you get the chance to play this course, jump at it. It has a nice mix of scoring opportunities and holes where par seems like a victory (especially #18) and the course layout and conditioning are superb. Truly a first rate club.
