Played The Crossings for the first time today. It's a tree lined course with water in play on several holes. It's a good course but not great. A few too many bunkers for my taste. Some holes are just target golf where avoiding the bunkers takes the fun out of playing the hole. Could also use a few more doglegs -- too many straight holes with no personality.
Customer Service No complaints. Everyone was friendly and helpful. |

I agree overall with the first poster Jim. This is the most overrated course in Central Virginia. I think people think it is great because it is convenient. Usually convenient things are not as good as the hype - same here. The course is not especially creative or in any other way remarkable. I find it astounding that this course is linked with both Stonehouse and Royal New Kent - 2 much better golf courses. Save your money and play a better Richmond course or drive down 64 to some really fine courses. Customer Service spotty - I've had both good and bad service from this course. If you know someone or are a local, no problems. Similar Products Used: actually a very nice driving range. Sorry about the cart barn fire. |

For as much play as this course they do a good job of conditioning. Play is slow, always crowded. Two biggest downfalls are price and location. For as much as they charge you should not have to listen to the constant rumble of traffic on 295 which is literally 20 yards off the number 4 tee box. They have comped me range balls before so I can't complain about the service but agree that a 20 minute drive will allow you a much better golfing experience for less money. Customer Service FINE |

I have played here three or four times and loved it. I get there early, as a single, and go out in the first group. On one occasions they let me go out by myself. Similar Products Used: None |

Joe Lee design, considered one of Richmond's finest daily fee venues, and boy do they know it. After you wait around the pro- shop for 10 minutes while the help talks to some of the good old boy locals who can't play their way out of a wet paper bag, they will take your money and act like they are doing you the worlds largest favor by allowing you to go out on their course and try to play around the construction of cardboard town- homes and even an old folks home. A fine layout with good conditioning, you just need to set aside the 11 hours it takes to play. The locals really run this place and I get the impression they are in no hurry to get home to their wives, slow is not strong enough of an adjective. Drive 30 minutes out of town and play a better course for less, yes you drive more, but you won't spend 11 hours behind a group of guys advancing the ball 14 yards per whack and showing each other cigar holding tricks. Most of the guys who play here do tend to have a real talent for holding cylindrical objects between their lips, sometimes even lit ones. I think they have a forum in the pro- shop on acting like a you are a member of the worlds most exclusive golf club, even tho- it is a public course. Just thinking about the place makes me hate golf. Customer Service I lost my counter receipt one day for a 9 hole fee and they threw me off after 8 holes, and it was almost dark, and it had taken me 4 hours to walk 8 holes Similar Products Used: soda pop machine is a o.k. |
