This is just an old small town dirt track. The club has been running out of money lately and everything has slowly deteriorated. First it was the tennis courts back in the mid-80's, then it was the landscaping, and finally they shut down the swimming pool last year because there was no money to pay for its upkeep. Now the golf course is starting to fall off in quality - the fairways and greens are still great, but the sand traps are less traps these days and now are more like old school "waste bunkers" in Europe and in fact, none of the members even play out of the traps anymore except in tournaments when they have to. This being West Texas, the unwatered rough is mostly hardpan and weeds and a lot of times it's better to line up outside of the fairway because your ball will roll further. Still fun to play if you have some other reason for being in town and are looking for something to do, but it's definitely nothing special. A good value, though, for the money, because there are some nicely designed holes, even if it's not as fancy as it was in the 1970's glory days.
