Shoots in the 80s

I played the course on Feb 25, 1218pm tee time. For that early in the season their fairways and tees were excellent. The practice green was quite fast so I was expecting the greens to be excellent. But the front nine was very slow. They were a little soft and seemed not cut. But they did roll true. The nineth hole and all the back nine were just like the practice green, fast and true. The course was built in the hilly North San Antonio area and had a lot of elevation changes and some quite spectacular views. The only thing I didn't like about the course was the long grass that boarded the fairways and greens. It gave the course a sort of links look and play, which I don't particularly like. Since I was playing in the winter all the grass was dead and didn't add anything to the course. I suppose it could add to the experience in the spring and summer months. Overall it was a nice round and I enjoyed myself.

Customer Service

Staff was very nice and accomodating. The check in experience was excellent and the attendant went out of his way to connect me with the other players in my party. I never had a bad experience the whole day.

I have not played any other courses in the San Antonio area except Pecan Valley and neither were similar. The course was similar to several courses I played in the Austin area. I played from the Blue tees, just over 6000 yds and found the course to be a lot of fun.

A top 5 course in the SA area. Challenging course with beautiful scenery. A little pricey for the average golfer at around $80, but certainly a nice treat.

Shoot in the 90s

WOW!!! That pretty much sums it up. This course is absolutely beautiful. Very challenging, tight fairways, huge greens, bunkers, water: this course simply has it all. The fairways conditions were perfect, greens were fast and tough to read (good sign of some challenging greens). Bring a lot of balls if you can't control your driver. If you don't keep it on the fairway off of the tee you'll most likely be in the trees or in this 5 foot tall grass that's all over the place (in between tee boxes and along the fairway). Trust me on this. The scenery was amazing. The golf carts have GPS installed. Definitely worth the money. About $80 on weekend, with a cart. Can't walk this course. Highly recommended if you're in the San Antonio area. I'm going there in a month and will definitely play this course again.
