My son and I played course #1. Nice course over all. Greens need work. My issue... is that I was charged full price for my 9 year old beginner player. There are way too many courses in this area that provide breaks for juniors. I will not come back to SP. Customer Service A bit of a 'holier-than-thou' attitude. Again way too many golf couses in the area. Similar Products Used: WestRidge, Plantation, Oak Hollow, Pecan Hollow, Chase Oaks, Indian Creek, Coyote ridge |

Sherrill Park Golf Course - the greens are terrible. Called for tee time, no mention of condition. The business side wants to get that $$. I don't play often, had adult kids with, played the 18 just for fun, no way to get serious. Customer Service Employees are friendly and apologetic, willing to give refund. Great course for the money in the Metroplex. Spectacular course for the money in Texas. I travel Texas and have found this course to be the best bet for value.
Customer Service good Similar Products Used: Too many to list |

The fairways of both courses are OK, the greens are not in good shape Customer Service The staff is a bit rude at times, the snack bar manager is the at the top of rudeness chain Similar Products Used: Firewheel, Pecan Hollow, Chase Oakes, Ridgeview Ranch, Buffalo Creek, Westridge, Woodbridge (all better choices) |

Both courses here are good. #1 is fairly long, par 72 and about 6800 yards if I remember right. #2 is par 70 and shorter, around 6300. I like both, but I would have to pick #2 as my favorite. You'll hit a lot of different shots off the tee...some risk-reward holes, some definitely-don't-hit-the-driver holes, etc. The greens on the #2 are more fun as well. The downhill par-3 16th is quite a sight, as is the short par-4 6th and the par-3 12th. Only gripe is that the layout is somewhat confusing the first time out. #1 is the older course, and the holes are a little more straightforward, but there is a good deal of challenge there too, mostly due to the tighter, tree-lined fairways. Customer Service Not bad...not great, but not bad. Snack bar makes a good hot dog at the turn! |

Sherrill Park has two courses, one which they call the Resort Course, and the other I forget. I believe the Resort course is designated #1 course, while the other is #2. I played the #2 first, and unfortunately after a day of TX rain. The range was very wet, and every irons swing made a mess. The #2 course, as i remember it is more narrow than #1. The #1 has a lot of doglegs, but very short. You'll be usin' the driver a lot less than the #2. #1 course has more water. The fairways were good for a muni course, the greens were fast and could have used a bit more maintenance but were ok. I've had no problems as a walk up during the weekdays. However, the weekends are very busy. |

For a city owned course, this is on of the better ones in the metroplex. The course has plenty of trees and water, and I found it to be rather enjoyable. Fairways and greens were in good shape though they did need some water, but overall pretty good for around $40. Customer Service tee times are hard to get, but the staff is pretty decent.
