Backwoods, hole in the wall course. Goat ranch golf in the truest sense.

Customer Service

Friendly, "glad your here" attitude.

Roomy, spacious parking since there's hardly anybody there. If you just want to drop in, they'll get you off pretty quick.

Very challenging. If you like to grip and rip stay away. Nice change of pace to practice your irons.

No tee times. No credit cards.

Shoots in the 80s

I used to play this course 2-3 times a week when I was in med school at Shreveport. Overall the most challenging course I have ever played. Completely unfair to those without course knowledge, but its a course I love to hate. You will definitely hit EVERY club in your bag on this course an I agree that many of the tee shots are very unfair to the uninitiated Valley newbies.

Customer Service

Excellent, Mr. Mace and his brother are good people.

Shoot in the 70s

Sorry to disagree with Clint, and no knock to Pete and family, who are very nice, but I don't have a very high opinion of the course. I think it's overly tight, many tees shots requiring a significant hook or slice to end up in the fairway, and some holes it just seems downright impossible to hit the fairway (i. e. #6). Not a professional design. Conditioning is up and down, sometimes good, sometimes not so hot. It is relatively uncrowded, in my experience. On the other hand, I recall the green fee being less than $25, so that's hard to beat. Can be a good alternative to nearby overcrowded public courses in Shreveport.

Shoot in the 80s

Cypress Valley is the ultimate east Texas challenge. Tight fairways groomed with first and second cut leading to unbearable rough and trees. Greens are as slick as bent grass, but more durable. Back tees can add as muck as 45 yds to your shot. Water comes into play on about seven different holes, lay-ups and course knowledge are at a premium.

Customer Service

Pete Mace and family, along with brother Ben treat you with the respect that is expected in East Texas.
