Ditto is a fun place to play and has a different look on each hole as the terrain varies between hilly, flat, woods,and water. Knowing where to aim and the course layout is the key. Outstanding mix of short & long holes. Greens & fairways were in good shape. I will play here more often when in the Metroplex.

This course is probably the best-kept secret in the DFW area. Since it's rather out of the way in Arlington, it doesn't get quite as much play as other courses, especially during the week. This course is a blast to play, especially for the price.

The course is great for everyone, and from the tips it's no pushover at 6700 yards. The greens are well-kept and, while not the smoothest around, still putt well and hold shots decently. They also tend to be on the small side (the course was built in the 60s), which adds extra challenge. There's water on several of the holes, but it's not too threatening except on the 4th, 5th, and 17th. No fairway bunkers, but there are some greenside bunkers on just about every hole. All in all this is a pretty straightforward and fairly forgiving course, but there are a few holes that will ruin your round if you fall into a false sense of security during your round. The par-4 5th, for example, features a 30-foot deep valley in front of the green. The green itself is sloped sharply down towards the valley, and if you find yourself on the back side of the green and hit your downhill chip too hard...you're all the way in the bottom of the valley.

Another tough hole is the par-five 15th, which doesn't look like much on the card (480 yards), but once you step up to the tee box you realize that this is probably one of the narrowest tee shots on a par five anywhere. There's mature trees and rocks on the left and right, and the fairway is only about 25 yards wide, and slopes off to the right--even a slight fade is probably destined for the woods.

This is a really fun course with lots of good scenery and--get this--no houses! Hard to find a golf course in the DFW area that isn't going through a housing development. And it's in the hilly north Arlington region, so there are some nice elevation changes...hole 12 for example is a beautiful little downhill par 3 tucked into a cul-de-sac of trees.

If you want to start sharpening your shotmaking skills on a course that's not so punishing but offers a good amount of shot values for not much money, this course is fantastic.
