Egwani Farms has become my favorite public course in Knoxville. Its combination of service, facilities, and maintenance makes it the best value in town.
It has a couple of quirky par 5's (2 & 11)that probably frustrate long-hitters because they require a layup off the tee (not my problem). Also, the traps get somewhat compacted by the end of the season.
However, they have a lot of water available (it's on a river and has several ponds and streams) so the fairways are always in good shape as are the greens. You have nice views of the mountains from the elevated tees and greens.

Great warm-up facilities; grass driving range, trap and short game green, and putting green-- they are only available for use when you're playing so they are always in great shape.
All-in-all its a very fair test and is a lovely course.

Customer Service

The service at Egwani is the differentiator.
- They bring a cart out to your car and offer to load your bags.
- Range balls are free and buckets sit right outside the pro shop.
- Free tees and ball mark repair tools on the counter where you check-in.
- 12 minute tee times, its very rare, even on Sat. morning to take more than 4 hours to play 18
- The staff is great, no overbearing marshalls, etc.
- Adequate grill with cold drinks and sandwiches (beer only, no wine or liquor)
- Nice clubhouse and pro shop but its not designed as a place to "hang out"
- Warm, pleasant, clean and professional

Nice course. Club house is in what looks like an old barn, very charming. Great practise area. Good greens and tough rough.

Ok for walking, over all pretty flat.

Price is pretty steep during the week, about $50.

Customer Service

Nice folks.
